Its great you guys are doing all this. Thank you for posting. But can you add some info besides settings?

I'd like to know if the tune is for online or offline, for which there is a huge difference in the physics. For instance a 5 front, 3 back brake balance that is awesome offline won't work online.

Can you also put the tracks the tune is best for and suggestions on tweaks for different tracks? There is no universal tune, which if some of you finding tunes on here didn't know now, you will know later. Something like: this tune is excellent for tracks, a, b, c, and OK for d, e, f but you will need to do X for tracks g, h, i.

Thanks guys and keep up the great work!👍

Yeah, good suggestion. When I start posting GT5 tunes, I'll make sure it says whether it's offline or online (I suspect 99% of the tunes here are for offline).

Dunno about the "variety of tracks" idea, though, it means a lot more work for the "perfectionist tuners". These guys often believe that a tune only works properly at the track it was designed for. Since tunes can take hours and hours to perfect, having different versions of each car for various tracks is very time consuming. Sure, one could just say "change the stabilisers to X for track Y and it will be close enough", but some of us have a holistic (or anally-retentive, depending your perspective!) belief that all settings must complement each other so it can be just as much work to "tweak" a tune for another track.

Despite all this, hopefully some garages will be happy to post tweaks for other tracks, it's a great idea in theory 👍

Idea: even if garages don't regularly post "tweaks" for different tracks, it would be useful to have it done even once. Then readers could use this example see what kind of tweaks they should be doing to adapt a tune to another track. FWIW if no-one's done this by the time I start posting GT5 tunes (could be a while yet unfortunately), I'll put something together for you.

Personally my tunes are all done offline on nürburgring typev and tested online afterwards. Then I'll make subtle changes and retest offline to make sure the laptimes didn't suffer from the online changes.

Personally, I think the online vs offline tune difference is a myth. I see no difference. I also don't find that I need a wildly different tune from track to track. I will raise ride height and soften the springs/dampers for bumpy tracks like the ring, but don't change any of the relative balance front to rear, once I have found it.

The only other thing I change track to track is the transmission top speed.

You named several things you change from track to track. Exactly what I am talking about. And there was a different team working on the offline and online game physics. Yes, its universally known that cars act different online then they do offline.
