I am looking for the release date, and the yearly sales, for GT-2. If anyone has any reliable resources, I would really appreciate it. thanks.

Well, over here, there are three of them:

(Version 1.0) Car Wash says 5000 Cr, Muscle Car Cup licenses are incorrect, #6 Mark Martin's Taurus SHO as racing modification, 98.2% complete maximum.

(Version 1.1) Car Wash says 50 Cr, Muscle Car Cup licenses are incorrect, #6 Mark Martin's Taurus SHO is gone, 98.2% complete maximum.

(Version 1.2) Car Wash says 50 Cr, Muscle Car Cup licenses fixed, #6 Mark Martin's Taurus SHO is gone, 100% complete maximum.

The first NTSC version was released on December 30th, 1999. I have no idea about the PAL and Japanese releases.

Pupik's the man.

Not sure the versions had anything to do with the question, though.

I think the exact date was December 18th, 1999 in North America. All I remember, is that I got it as a belated Christmas gift in April of 2000...sometimes the best is for last. I'm imagining that the Japanese version came out a good 3-4 months sooner than that.

Hard to believe this game will be 5 years old in a few months.

It's really 50cr. for everyone (except the Japanese version), but the early versions list it as 5000 by mistake. As if buying the Midget II D-type wasn't enough of a waste, they had to carry the Car Wash over to waste more of your money.

At least in GT3 it does something to the color, and in GT1 it was more entertaining.

isnt the basic concept the same in gt2 and 3 as in the carwash just spins the car right... i hardly find that amusing, maybe your just easily entertained.

In GT3, your paint gets dingier as you accure miles. When you wash it, it gets all shiny again, and a lot of people will argue that you gain a hint of top speed.

Really doesn't appear to do anything in GT2.

Actually you do I guess becuase if you read manual it says something about making the car more smooth and improve downforce or something. ( Cant recall)
