Actually a pretty good movie. I thought it was much better than Tomb Raider as far as V-Games turn Hollywood...

I'll keep this post to a minimum as my opinion should not influence you to either see or not see this movie...

So go now and see this movie before Blade2 comes out...

I do not share your opinion in comparison. I thought Tomb Raider was better - but I've also never played Resident Evil. I am a Tomb Raider fan. What's weird, I can't find any of them in stores. I think I'm going to have to go to a used game shop here in town.

I'll probably see this sometime this week if all goes well. I'm actually looking forward to it, and hope it is better than Tombraider (which I really, really didn't like.) How did it stack up to Mortal Kombat though? (Which I think is the best V-game to movie conversion ever. )

Well, I have to say that Resident Evil didn't follow quite as close as Mortal Combat, but hey, I love a Sci-Fi/Horror any day!

Resident Evil had better effects, but I don't know that it was as entertaining. MK had lots of little fight scenes, where RE just has some short gun fights and some running around. If they make a sequel there should end up being a LOT more fighting and gun play.

As far as following the game's story line, I'm told that the game picks up where the movie end. So it can't really follow the story line if everything in the movie happens before the timeframe of the game.

Well, I just saw it and really enjoyed the movie. It was definitely better than I expected (Even though everyone seemed to like it, I was still skeptical..) My memory for the games is a little hazy as it has been several years but it seems to pick up right as RE:2 is leaving off. Even though I managed to guess lots of upcoming events, it still managed to throw in a nice plot twist or two. It also did an excellent job of paying homage to the video games, especially where the zombies were concerned. *chomp* *chomp*
