Resistance 3 is a science fiction first person shooter video game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3.

The game will be released worldwide 2011 and was announced at Gamescom 2010. Resistance 3 is the third sequel to the best-selling PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man.Resistance 3 is to be set in New York City.The Resistance 3 trailer was released on 17 August at the Gamescom 2010 event in Cologne,Germany.

Don't think I'm going to bother. I had issues with the controls with the first one, and they got worse with the second.

However, I did 'like' the first one, after I played the demo a million times. Eventually, not using the Sixaxis helped out a lot.

R:FOM1 is the best, most fun FPS I've ever played. I hope this one is much like the first and pretty much nothing like the 2nd.

Yeah I agree. Resistance 1 was a far superior game than it's sequel. I stupidly traded it in for Resistance 2.
Resistance 2 was just too bloated, had a rubbish story, and the controls and feel of it were all wrong. Plus some of the set-pieces were the most tedious I have ever played. The three that come to mind are the one where you're going through a tunnel in the dark surrounded by those things in the egg-sacks; the bit where you're in this base and you have to avoid that sodding swarm-thing that chases you down as you get try to get to the elevator; and the bit near the beginning where you have to be guided by your buddy who's helping you avoid those big sentry bots. Annoying as hell. Plus it was too sci-fi oriented: the original R1 was a brilliant take on the tired WW1 shooter formula.
And why the hell couldn't you shoot those damn things in the water? Just plain stupid.
Also, a FPS shooter needs to make you feel like you are controlling a person.
But in R2 you just glided along like you were on a mini-hovercraft.

Hope R3 is a huge improvement.

Your criticism sounds a little harsh to me at first.

On reflection I think I agree with the points you identify as R2's weaknesses but I still enjoyed the game.

Oh I finished it and enjoyed it, but it was a one-play-only experience. Once done, never to return to. Not even online.

What we need is the return of an old favourite: Duke Nukem!

Can someone please settle something for me? The screenshots released so far of the game look ridiculous. Like best graphics ever ridiculous (in my opinion, at least). But none of them actually look like gameplay screenshots, they look like CGI. Here's pretty much all of em:

They almost look like GT photomode... Anyway, I know there's gameplay videos, but I've yet to find one in even decent quality.

Loved the original, really liked the second and third looks fantastic as well. It seems like Insonmiac really listened to the complaints people had about the second game, and made the appropriate changed to the third game.

I'll be getting a free copy (well, bundled) when I pick up my pre-ordered Sony 24" 3D monitor.

They don't look that unrealistic to me. Is there a specific screenshot you're talking about? It looks pretty normal, dare I say it, not even that special graphically.

From what I recall, the early copies of SOCOM 4 has a voucher for the Resistance 3 Beta. Hopefully Insomniac will do what Naught Dog have done, and make it an open Beta later on down the line.

I thought Resistance: FOM was good. Resistance 2 was awful and Resistance 3 looks like they're going back into the right direction.

Just spent an hour and a bit downloaded the demo, only to find out they have suspended online matchmaking, which is a fail as its a multiplayer demo!

Downloaded the beta, gameplay was similar to previous resistance games. Nice new perks and all, I like it.

Yesterday I gave Resistance 3 demo a go and it's a lot of fun. Blastin aliens at the state of art, interesting weapons and good AI. Just a shame for the time consuming/boring boss fights. I much prefer kill hordes in this kind of games.
