First of all, a big hello to everyone!
On Friday 25th November, 2011, it will be ten years to the date since Richard Burns became the 2001 World Rally Champion. Sadly, it'll also be six years exactly since he was taken from the world cruelly, and far too soon.
Myself and funkyDucks have decided to celebrate his crowning glory, as well as remembering the man himself by holding a memorial event in honour of Richard
This will be held on Friday 25th November, at 22:00 GMT (though this is negotiable if the demand is there)
RBMR will be held over six stages; Eiger Nordwand K Trail, Toscana, Chamonix... and to add some spice to proceedings, three randomly generated stages! For the generated stages, a group Recce of one lap will be undertaken at a pre-determined speed of 50 mph. Cars will then set off at ten second intervals. The winner is the driver with the fastest aggregate time over the six stages. Simple!
A choice of four cars are allowed, all significant in Richard's career in one form or another; the Mitsubishi Evo IV from 1997 (the car in which he claimed his first WRC win), the Subaru Impreza WRC '99 (the car in which he came runner-up in 1999), the Subaru Impreza WRC '01 (his title-winning car) and the Peugeot 206 WRC (his final competition car). NB: All cars are to be UNMODIFIED. Please note each car will be limited to a maximum of four.
There are prizes for the top three finishers, but we're not going to tell you what they are... that would spoil the surprise
Damage will be set to FULL, Track Condition will be set to REAL and all assists will be set to OFF, to enhance the challenge
