I was finally able to get this mod working in Vista... and what a mod... It's tough to call it a Mod, really. In PC game terms it seems more like RBR 2, rather than a simple expansion mod. Loving the night mode, and variable track conditions.

I'll give it 👍👍👍👍

;)

I've been trying to get RBR work on my Win7, with no success.. The game didn't even create a quick launch icon, and once I do start it, it complains something about random direct X 9 error and shuts down..:ouch:

I had it working just fine on Windows 7. Try to reinstall it, and make sure it installs the DirectX files.

Has anyone made regular tarmac cricuits available to drive in RBR? I always how RBR Physics engine would fair :)

Guys, I've been trying to play this game in widescreen, but with no luck. I've changed the .ini to 1366 x 768, which is my screen resulotion, but still doesn't work.

What do I do wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the game recognizes only the resolutions setted in the "video settings" and all are 4:3
But you can workaround this problem by using a small program called CamHack 3.0
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/download/8424

You need only to run this program, assign the buttons for increase/decrease the aspect ratio and for activate/deactivate the program. (CamHack must be left open when you launch RBR)

I know it was a while ago... But do you guys remember how you got it working in Windows 7?
When I tried installing it, all I would get is a black screen when I tried to load up RBR or launch from the mod itself.
Any ideas?
Cheers 👍

RBR with this mod is still the king of rallying by FAR! I re-installed RBR and this mod few weeks ago and , WOW!!! what a ball with the fantastic Force Feedback and the new upgraded graphics, sounds and cars... With Iracing and LFS, the best Force feedback ever on PC. WRC 2010 is so lame when compared to RBR...

RBR is really teaching you how to drive for real, the technics and skills that you acquire and the level of accuracy of this simulation will be of use when driving for real (and even more when driving a bit quicker than your normal car's pace ;-) )... this is one of the few "simulator" which actually deserve this title.

Installation can be a pain... but at the end, it will last few years on you hard Drive if you like real simulator.

Wow thanks so much!
Now if this gets force feedback on my DFGT I will literally have to mop the mess up with a towel...

Then prepare to start mopping...

I use to own a DFGT, and I used it all the time with RBR and RSRBR.

Just make sure you follow the Windows Vista/7 guide for getting the FFB to work, and you'll be slipping around in your own drool in no time.

Indeed. It's going to have a nice home on my HDD for the life of this PC. You'd need a small SWAT team to get through me, before any attempt at removing it from my hard drive could commence.

Yes... Drool... Sorry
I'll attempt this tonight. So tired at the moment after biking :P

I always wished I'd got this game for PC rather than PS2 as it's just seemed to evolve over the years with more mods. I can't even play my PS2 one anymore because my PS2 isn't BC! :(

Please... This is a family site... :sly:

I imagine you mean your PS3 isn't BC?

We (U.S) never had a chance to play RBR on PS2. I would love to have it in my PS2 collection.

That's exactly what I meant. I forgot to re-read my post before hitting submit. :dunce:

Anyway, I installed a Richard Burns Rally demo on my laptop earlier this week and it seems to run perfectly even on really high settings. Plus it reminded me how much fun the game can be, despite it being stupidly hard at times. I think I'll continue hooking it up to a controller instead of using the keyboard though :P I think I'm going to pop down to the second hand game store and pick up a PC copy. It's only £1 so it shouldn't hurt my bank balance too much. ;)

Sorry for the double post, but I can't get this to work. I mean I've installed the original pack, then the numerous patches for the pack as well as the complete car pack but every time I click to run a stage it comes up with a message saying 'Invalid Fingerprint' anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

What cars are included in the car pack?

Honestly... Too many to list. Although, I'm sure there is a link somewhere to a full list.

UPDATE:

I'm having trouble with the "misc.rbz" file. For those who do not know, you can unpack the "Misc" folder, and then open the LM_Driver file, and change the first line from 60 to whatever half of your steering ratio is (so, it would be 450 if you are running a 900 degree wheel). This adjusts the steering animation so it matches your wheel rotation.

This is how it is suppose to be done, anyway.

I can't figure out how to unpack this file, change the setting, and repack it. Has anyone else made this change? I've been told to use Winrar, 7-Zip, or DragonUNPACKER to unpack the file.

Once I unpack the file (to my desktop in this case), I can open the LM_Driver (.ini file) in notepad and change the first line. Yet, when I try to re-save it I get a message everytime saying the file is "read only".

Does anyone else have any experience with this? It sure would be nice for the animation to match what I'm doing with my PWTS.

;)

Looking for some help with this game.

I just got it, i haven't updated the game or downloaded this pack yet as i want to try the game in its original form for a bit first.

Anyway, my problem is i can't get the force feedback to work. I'm running win 7 64bit and my steering wheel is a fanatec porsche turbo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: All good i downloaded the patch and now it all works fine.

Just purchased it for $12 dollars. This is one of my first actual sim racing games. We will see how I do...

Go through the rally school, and make sure you have all the techniques down before jumping into a rally season.

Be prepared... This game is not easy.

;)

Can anybody help me?

I need to download the car pack, but I am getting very slow speeds from rallyesim or getting cut off/timed out.

Anybody know alternate downloads? Thanks!
