I just recently got back into Gran Turismo. I bought GT5 back in December, but before that I hadn't played since GT2. I was one of those people that bought a Dreamcast instead of a PS2, and basically took a long hiatus from console gaming after that.

Anyway, I just pickup up a Driving Force GT wheel last night! I'm pretty excited about it. I keep hearing that the RIDGID Flip Top Stand can be a decent, pre-made, cheap stand for the wheel.

I'm looking for opinions from people who are using one of these as their wheel stand. Is it sturdy? Does the wheel cause it to rock at all? Any tips on modification?

That Rigid stand is a good idea! I'm sure you could fasten it to something solid, like a piece of 3/4" plywood or something....that would be pretty cool!

I have used this for years. I shaved off some of the ridges on the underside and drilled mounting hole for the G27 wheel and shifter - works great! Very very stable too.

Alright, I fixed it up and it's all ready to go! It very sturdy, and folds up nicely when not in use. I'll post some photos and some instructions on how I did it within the next couple of days.

I'm sorry for bumping up this old thread, but I recently purchased a g27 to replace my DFGT. I'd been using the RIDGID flip top for my DFGT, but I'm having trouble figuring out a good way to mount the g27 and the shifter.

Would any of you guys that use this be able to take some pictures or make some recommendations for mods that you've done?
