Probably a cell phone charger stashed away in the center console that was still stuck in the cigarette lighter.

I'd almost like to know how the crash played out, unless the scene and the cars in the pictures were altered from its original state. Either way, horrendous, and the man is very lucky.

I wonder if that crash would have either been prevented or much more serious had he been driving an imported model. (mostly weighing consequences between left and right-hand drive)

Or the rest of the car disintegrating around you. It reminds me of that often-replayed video of a guy fleeing the cops in the desert in a Corvette. He swerved around a line of tractor-trailers, missed hard into the back of one of them, then went directly off-road into the dust and cacti. The car literally fell to pieces around him. You could see him bouncing in the dirt. Seconds later, he sat up and seemed to contemplate running.

Is that the tree that "stopped" the RS6, or is there another, flatter one just out of view? I ask because with a car cleaved in two, I'm expecting a bit more damage to the bark.

Thought I had seen these pics before-but yeah it was such a lucky escape for the driver, to have the car ripped in half and to still survive, very lucky indeed.
