Ring setup needed for Viper SRT-10

I need a good Nurburgring setup for the '03 Viper SRT-10!
(Fully tuned, everything fitted including wing and roll cage)

With my current setup, no matter how hard I try, I just can't get
my ring time below 6.00 minutes!!! :yuck: My best time so far is a puny 6.05.
(no NOS used)

It's not that the car isn't quick enough, it definetely is. I just can't make
it stable enough, so with full commitment it just breaks loose when changing
direction at high speed. It's really frustrating, as there is at least another 10 seconds or so to drop from the lap time, but I can't make the beast stable!!

So, if you have found (or are able to find) a good ring setup for the SRT-10, please help me out!

Post your current setting, so people can see how they work, and perhaps give you a tip or two to improve them.

Awrighty then! I can see some settings are a tad out of order :)
Try this: (in order as you posted)
10.0/9.5
Is 95 the lowest? In that case 95/100 If not; go as low as 70/75 if possible
3/3
7/7
2.5/1.5
0/-1
6/6
Is 20/28 possible for downforce? If it is, go for that!
LSD 30/25/20 is probably a bit better option.
The rest looks fine, but try to up the brakes to 5/4 or even 6/5. Good luck! And please tell me if this works for you or not!

i disagree with ur setup completely..

i made alot of cars run right on the ring and using 6/6 stabilisers on a narrow and bumby track like that is pure suicide.

tomorrow i will buy the car and see if i can get it working, but to begin with putting the stabilisers on 1/1, and camber to default. also, put suspension pretty high and soft.

I'm sorry to say this, but these setup suggestions don't have the desired effect on the car, it still behaves *exactly* how it has so far, i.e. very unstable and tail happy at high speed and/or braking. Raising the suspension and making it softer has made it slightly less prominent, but also slower on corners.... I hope there is a setup that will work here, I'd very much like to break the 6'00 barrier.

Anyway, thanks for your help guys! I'm waiting for updates and new suggestions too. 👍

I could manage 6'02.035 just now, but the problems are still very present.
I was over 7 seconds ahead of this time at a point, but the car was all over the track in places, so I lost the lead, but still 3 secs quicker than my last best lap.

I wonder how quickly this car could lap the ring with a good setup? We shall see, in the meantime I'll wait for toy setup advice!

I´ll fiddle some myself to see where I end up. But I think the main issue for the highspeed tailhappines is merely a powerissue. The car simply has to much hp!

OK, try these settings;
F/R
springs 10.0/9.5
rideheight 90/95
bound 4/3
rebound 8/6
camber 2.5/1.5
toe 2/-4
stabilisers 5/4

gearing. Do the trannytrick (slide auto to25 slide final to max, then auto to 1)
1: 2.350
2: 1.655
3: 1.240
4: 0.985
5: 0.815
6: 0.690
final: 3.075
auto 1

brakes 5/4

ASM 0
TCS 3

downforce 20/28

LSD 30/35/50

tyres are of course R5

Did 6.01 with a silly runoff with these settings. Pretty stable now! Still a bit unsafe during braking from highspeed though, but not extrem.

I'll try these settings. Thanks man!

I don't think the unstability is a power issue, because as you know, wheelspin really isn't a problem at all, high speed stability is... But we'll see what I can manage with that new setup of yours!

OK, but please be so kind and tell me how things work out!

yo i experimented with the car too.. the conclusion is that there is no correct setup for it.. the weight of the engine is probably causing this unstability when braking at high speeds..

i suggest buying the oreca viper :P

tomorrow i can post my settings, u could try.

btw i didnt get further than 6.07 cos i made mistakes every time and went off track.. this car really is *****y

OK, I have tried the new setup, and it does make the car more stable. Like you say, braking is still slightly scary, but I can handle it now. Now I'll just have to adapt a new smoother driving style so that I can get through all the bumps and dithces without upsetting the balance. Thanks for the setup man! Now I'll try to break the magic 6'00...

gearing. Do the trannytrick (slide auto to25 slide final to max, then auto to 1)
There are other tranny trick, but reverse of that.
slide final drive to ??? (to the top speed needed), slide auto to 1, and use min final drive.
And the gear config should look like this (if 1st gear is rarely use):
|xxx
|xxx
x|xx
xx|x
xxx|

wassup bruv. this is how i got it down to 5:42.

max power
springrates:- front 7.8 rear 7.0
ride height:- 100mm front and rear
bounce side settings on 2 front and rear
front camber 2.5 rear set to default
no ASM tcs on 4
full available downforce.
and obviously super soft tyres
i set the gear ratio to 25.
plus had the diff fitted but left settings as they were.
did not fit the rollcage
brake bias 4/3

all other settings i left as default

oh if you want proof of the time i'll post a pic. and it was done without bashing off walls or cross country driving 👍

if it still feels really loose at the back try dropping the rear springrates even further

Sorry for being late on this...Reading this Thread, I think your riding too low. Stock height is 115. I tried going down to 105 and the SVT10 didnt turn as well. I'm at 111 and I like it so far. I believe if you set the car too low, there is no travel when the shocks compress. If there is no travel, and you turn at high speeds, it slides or pushes while turning. At 111 ride height, Going high speed and hitting the brakes to turn, or just turning - the nose will drop slightly, this brings weight to the front tires so the tires can grip. If the ride height is too low, there is no travel and not enough weight on the tires to turn. That's what DeanSays.

Perfect! got just the thing.

Here you go.

If you find these settings useful please let me know via the red tick.

You may want to detune this car if you do not want 1000+ BHP!

Cheers
