So Lenovo announced today they are finally retiring the Motorola brand. They produced many ground braking phones like the StarTAC and iconic ones like the V3 Razr which is one of the most beautiful mobile phones ever created.

A great company which kinda lost it's way like many other ones when Apple rolled in an decimated the market (although ironically the first Apple phone was a Motorola!). The Moto G will be the last phone to carry the name.

I have a first-gen (or second-gen, it's an 8gb with a 32gb SD card that I put in it) Moto G and I love the thing to death. Kinda sad that they'll be gone... might buy one of the last Moto Gs for later down the line if they're reasonable (and different from mine.)

I'm using a Razr V3 right now.

I bought a brand new one a few years back. Love the EL backlit dialling pad which is made from spun laser cut aluminium... sounds like it came from Star Trek! Pitty phones don't have that attention to style anymore.

From what I have read, only the name is being phased out. It will be known as "moto by lenovo" to the public.

I used to think Motorola died at some point after 2007, then they sort of came back. Only briefly though, it seems.

HOLY **** the flip RAZR is coming back!!!

That video is literally my youth! Millennials are finally old enough to be considered retro... man that makes me feel old :indiff:

I never had a motorola phone.

I was a nokia user though and through.

Ah my first was a red nokia 5110, then it was the 3310 which was upgraded to a 3315, then i ended up getting a 3200 and my last was a 7230 before i went to a SII smartphone.

I hope nokia goes back to what made is so great.

Well that's disappointing, all RAZR's after the V3 were met with a tepid response especially the Android ones. If it's basically going to be an updated DROID RAZR then I don't think it's going to set the world alight.

And there was me hoping for a full screen front, full screen back flip phone with keypad and V3 inspired styling :indiff:
