RM Cars: Should break-in be done before or after RM is applied?

The title says it all. I was in the middle of breaking in a Lotus Elise that I am going to Race Modify, and began to wonder if I should do engine break-in before or after Race Modification. Or does it not matter?

I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere, but search didnt really help me on this particular subject.

I think it doesn't matter, but you should know that you've to reinstall the engine upgrades after RM it.

Right, I know it will remove engine upgrades, etc. I'm referring to the break-in/oil change only.
Yes, I know, it was just to be sure.
Like I said, I think that it doesn't matter. Oil change isn't necessary after RM it and the power should be the same.

Hmmm, I would probably do it after I RM'd it, just because I guess it "changes" the engine and therefore everything driven before is worthless...

RM doesn't change the engine. I know you mean it in an other way, but why should the RM "change" it when it doesnt change power or others?

My RMed cars don't make the same HP as the non RMed versions (those I've checked) but, the only way to know for sure if its better to break in before or after RM is to test it. Otherwise are you guys not just speculating?

Exactly, we are just speculating.

Why? Wouldn't it make more sense to just test it, answer the question and move on to something else?
Yes, of course.
But I've not the time to do it and I'm not able to play GT5 at the moment.

EDIT: And I don't want to test it, too lazy!

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I RM'd a new Cappuccino and had about 9 less HP than my friends. Everyone told me it would go up to their levels after enough miles and an oil change, but it is still about 5 HP lower after more than 500 miles.

So, I RM'd another Cap that already had miles and oil changes, and the HP is at the same level as their cars.

I have RM'd several other cars since, and I've let them get to max HP before RMing. I just buy them and let bob run them until they get about 250 miles.

I think this post shows that you should break them in before RM'ing them. Cappuccinos at least.

As a further discussion towards the fact that it might be car-related, I bought a 2010 Camaro SS and did the following:

1. Oil Change

2. Race Mod

3. Max Tuning Parts

4. Let Bob tool it around for a few hundred miles

5. Oil Change

I ended up with the same 704HP/705HP as everybody else or at least the same as those I chatted with online. It shows 704HP in the Garage List, but when you actually click on it, the specs show 705HP.

So, it does appear that it may be car-related as to whether you break it in first or RM it first. I'm also a noob, but that's what I do for any car, skipping #2 if the car cannot be RM'd. ;)

Looks like the conclusion to be drawn from all of this is that it varies car to car. I had similar experiences with both the Capp and the Corvette, though with the Capp I had driven it for 150 miles before the Race Mod, so I wound up 1 HP short of the rest of the league.

Anyway, I'll try the Elise both ways (RM=>Break-in=>Oil Change/Break-in=>Oil Change=>RM) and post what happens. I'm pretty busy both in real life and with a couple of GTP race series, so it could take a week or two...
