What road cars, with full or not modification, win the Like the Wind event easily? I've only tried 2 cars.

Win
Dodge Viper SRT10
BMW M5 (requires quite a bit of tuning)

Probably
Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Any more?

A W12 Nardo Concept is a shoe-in for 200-pts, with a tune-up.

However, be advised that this is the car you win from the NTSC "Like The Wind" race.

Here are the roadcars capable of 300+ mph:

Cadillac Cien
Dodge Viper SRT10 '03
Lotus Esprit 350 Sport
Lotus Esprit V8
Lotus Esprit V8 GT
Lotus Esprit V8 SE
Mercedes SL65 AMG
Mitsubishi 3000GT '95
Mitsubishi 3000GT '96
Mitsubishi 3000GT '98
NisMo Skyline GT-R32 S-Tune '00
Nissan 300ZX '98
Nissan Skyline GT-R33 V-Spec '95
Nissan Skyline GT-R34 V-SpecII Nur '02
Pagani Zonda C12S
Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3
Tommykaira ZZ-II
Toyota Supra RZ

I´d also include the TVR Speed 12, VW Nardo and Honda NSX-R LM Roadcar.

The Xj220 can do it. Pretty much any car that can consistently maintain an average speed of about 265 mph won't have an issue.

Exactly, slipstream plays an important factor as well. Some cars cannot reach 265 mph by themselves so a solution would be to get a good start as possible, use NOS to get in the slipstream of the other cars and pass them in or after the last turn. (That last shot of NOS maybe?)

I'm sure I worked it out that you need a car that'll do 235mph on its own, and you should be able to win without any major problems. Its a while since I've done it though.

[edit] Treed by daan, but he's correct: Any car that will hold 235mph in open air will win this race, even from last place.

Just Tested:

Ruf Yellow Bird (betcha saw that coming.)
AC 427, Shelby 427
Saleen S7
Subaru Legacy B4 (Yes, I got it to a max limit of 256.3 mph)
Subaru Impreza spec.C (250-260, not sure)
Viper GTS
Jaguar XKR-R Performance.

I got 2nd with the Jaguar, and with the AC Shelby, less than a second though.

The R92CP is about the fastest of the bunch, and it only hits ~237mph before bouncing off the rev limiter, so anything that can maintain an open-air 235 will win pretty easy. The W12 Nardo I used was set up for high speed, with a steady speed of ~265mph in the straight and ~255mph through the turns. No one even came close, and I had passed the entire field before clearing the tunnel at the end of the back straight.
