Greetings all,
I'm mostly a lurker here but I wanted to promote my club which I believe many of you will find appealing. I wanted to wait until I fully understood the features and limitations of the new Community system before I promoted it, and now that I have my brain wrapped around it, I feel confident in presenting it to you all and hope to get a good core group of players from this great GT racing community.
RTEC (club ID 1003250) is a club set up for the easy-going, mature racer in mind. It is an inclusive club, which means we are open to all skill levels, all controller types, and for that reason all aids are left available in all events. Don't need them? Great, feel free to turn them off in your options menu!
Our focus is on fun racing action and competition in an easy-going environment where half the fun is the variety of cars and the locations which we choose to race them. If you need aids off, and all sorts of restricting rules in order to prove how awesome a driver you are...to yourself....then this is not the club for you. Find another club, or even better, go get a real car and go to real track days if you are so badass....that's what real pros do. I've got more than enough seat time of my own that I don't need to prove anything to anyone in a video game...I'm here to have fun! RTEC is for good times online!
Each week will have a different event for each day of the week, double events Friday - Sunday. Variety in gameplay is what separates RTEC from the other clubs. Our only rules are to behave like an adult over the mics, no one wants to hear whatever crap music you are listening to, and to race clean. There are plenty of dirty racing clubs you can join if that is how you play the game. There is nothing to win, no prize, nothing, behave accordingly.
//Monday Night Racing this is an event where we race the "ultimate driving machines" in a new location each week. We may change it up while in the room, for example we may decide to do one race with M5's only or 2002's only....or we just leave it wide open.
Tunesday is a social event. It is a free run session at the Nordschleife where you can test & tune your cars and get acquainted with other club members over the mic.
Wednesday Time Attack is a time trial event for different cars at a new location each week. It will typically be restricted to one particular model of car, for example the McLaren F1 or LCC Rocket....in the event that there are multiple versions of the same model (Miata, NSX) any variant of the intended model can be used so long as the in-game filter accepts it.
Throwback Thursdays is an event for old school cars. This is where we race the lesser used classics such as all those old Japanese and European cars from the 60's and 70's. The event description will layout what is expected and I will try to tailor the event parameters to lock out cars that have such an advantage that everyone will have to use one in order to be competitive (Shelby/AC Cobras for example), we will do separate events for cars like those.
Friday Night Face-Off is an event where we race two cars of similar performance or rivalry. For example, Corvette vs Viper, Mustang vs Camaro, STi vs Evo, etc etc...
Saturday Sierra Sprint is a one lap sprint through the Sierra course. Each week we change up the eligible cars, it may be restricted to a single model one week, or to a single make, or to a drivetrain configuration. The event description will let you know what we are doing each week.
Sunday Single-Make Racing is exactly that, an interesting and cool single make or model car is selected and we race that car. Each week the make/model and location will change.
If you are unfamiliar with how the club events work, they work much like the Seasonal Events, except other players can join you. If you do not find a room already up and running, start one up and message your friends and when other club members enter the club page they will see a flag indicating that you have a room open already and they can join you.
Below you can see an example of the event line-up from last week which had a 90's theme which is reflected in some of the events. There won't always be a theme for each week, but now and again we'll do one just to keep things fresh and fun.
Thanks for your checking the club out and I hope to see many of you in-game for some fun racing!

Monday - Thursday are static events and will be in place every week. The tracks might change or the cars being raced might change, or both, but the spirit of the event will remain static from week to week.//Monday Night Racing this is an event where we race the "ultimate driving machines" in a new location each week. Friday - Sunday are double event days. There will be one static event for each day and the second event will likely change from week to week. There is a forum thread open in-game where I solicit club members to make suggestions for events. Your suggestions will be incorporated into the second event on one of these days.Friday Night Face-Off is an event where we race two cars of similar performance or rivalry.
