Pretty simple really, what are your thoughts? What is the future of Arsenal, with RVP joining Fabregas and Viera in recent years leaving the club in the summer as captain? Where will RVP go, and for how much?

It was confirmed in a statement by himself on his website today he wont be signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Some key quotes:

"But unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward."

"I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days"

My thought's are that he is just another ****bag with no loyalty to the club that made him. I hope Arsenal can sell him now, realise a good return and spend, rather then let him leave on a free in 12 months.

It doesn't surprise me. I actually thought he was going to leave last summer but he stuck around. He's a great player who simply wants to win trophies. It could have happened but they choked end of season.

Sucks. :(

I think he should see out his contract. Juve offered 12m which is awful. We'd be better off with RVP than 12m.

Loyalty is non existent in football. To be fair to RVP, Arsenal haven't one a thing for 7 years, so should expect players to move on.

You mean apart from make him a multi millionaire :P. Well, Cesc made the move last year and all he got was bench time and a Spanish Cup.

City have an embarrassment of riches up front so he wont get a looking in there, Real are the same, Barca are the same too. So that leaves ManU, and they are not exactly a shoe in for silverware these days either.

I hope they flog him. In fact, I hope they threaten to bench him for the entire season to encourage him to move now for a fee. I'd rather not see him in an Arsenal shirt again, and certainly not as Captain.

As a Gooner I have mixed emotions about this one. On the one hand he's clearly currently our best striker and scored over 41 goals in 53 matches, but on the other that's the first and only time he's ever been that good. I would be more nervous if he had been doing this for these last few seasons, but he hasn't. And with Podolski and Giroud coming in (both internationals) I'm not that disappointed. Also, he's already 28 and would be on a year-by-year contract in a couple of season's time and likely to move on anyway.

All top level premier league footballers are multi-millionaires, so I would say that a few medals are his main aim at this point. But £250,000 a week is a nice sweetner!

Fabregas won the Spanish Supercup in his first game, the Uefa supercup, the World Club Cup and as you mentioned the Copa Del Rey. Not a bad haul in your first season, after winning nothing for the previous six.
