Well, I tried racing Daytona early this morning and all cars cannot exceed 74 MPH. Has anyone else experience this problem?

I tried several rooms and had the same issue. :nervous:

Edit: I edited the title to reflect the issue. The issue is with the rolling start, not the Daytona track.

Edit: Work around for the rolling start bug.

By pausing and then unpausing the game before the race begins will prevent the 74mph bug from occurring.

As a friendly reminder, make sure to communicate these simple steps just before the race begins to prevent wrecking at the start.

Hopefully PD is aware of this issue and will correct it with next patch.

Do you have any other conditions for recreating this? I made a lobby just now to test and tried a few cars, free run and racing. No problems.

All that I did was create a Daytona room and started a race using my ACR Viper. This same problem happened in 2 different rooms. Free run seemed to work just find but after starting the race the car wouldn't accelerate. I proceeded to stop the car and then hit the accelerator and the accelerated quickly but only to 74 MPH.

I'm using the G27.

Room Settings:
12 car room limit
audio quality low
5 laps
2x rolling start
reverse lineup according to previous race
no damage
no boost
no driving line
no skid recovery

I'll add more settings as I remember them. I'm going to check again once I get home this evening.

Just a thought. If you push the pedal to the bottom, is that also visible as a fully depressed pedal in that on-screen display bars? Pedals have a smal tendancy of not functioning properly.

I really didn't notice but I wasn't the only one on the track having this issue. Everything worked fine in Free Run mode.

now the thread makes sense^^ had this once also when the cable of the accelerator got loose.
Stick to Vipersans hint and check if your hardware is ok.

I'm not sure what is causing this issue but it only happening at Daytona. I've been playing this game for a very long time and I know what I'm doing. I will try again tonight when I get home as see if I can replicate this issue again.

I actually experienced this same issue after updating to 2.01.
I've tried several different lobbies with the same outcome for everyone in the lobby.

You either get stuck at 45mph or 75mph and/or put on the track long after the race has
started.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Seems almost like you're getting hit with a pit lane speed limiter, but in effect throughout the entire course. Weird stuff. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

He's not crazy! We know each other and I was the only person on the NA server for a while, I did the update minutes after it came out. Me and a few buddies went in and we all have the same problem. I then posted it under the news of 2.0 and it's shame because it's my favorite racing. GTP start up a new room I'm on, let's try it again.

Seriously people shut up I you don't know what your talking about. He is not making I up it is lighting up my message box with questions. It dosnt let us go over the speed of the rolling start is what it is

I believe the rolling start causes this. Try grid start and it should go away. Folks over at TPRA experienced the same.

Well your account is online and in gt5.

Kinda defeats the purpose. When you cars with anywhere for 700-1200 hp you need a rolling start

It's not exclusive to Daytona I've had it happen at Indy too. It's a product of rolling starts (double or single file). And it only seems to affect half the field.

We found a quick fix last night, if you hit the start button during the 3,2,1 count down to start or anytime during the race it will get rid of the restriction.

All right thAnks. I was mad because I just finished my first tune ever! For a brand new dodge viper, it's not my beat car but I'm proud of myself ha

Bmoe, have you been able to confirm that it is an issue with rolling starts? both single line and 2X?

It's ridiculous that PD can fix one bug but break something else!

Sounds like my mom! My dad always says that to her "I fix something and b4 that's done you break something else". And yes I can fairly assume it is only rolling starts

Edit:

After about 45 min of testing I conclude the following:
It does this on various tracks
The speed only goes to 74 mph
Only happens on rolling starts (both single and x2)
Sometimes only happens to a few members in the room
And the only way I've found to work that fixes it is pressing start during the 3,2,1 countdown.

Thanks

Good to know that there is a work around but not everyone is going to figure this out. Starts are going to be a catastrophe! Wouldn't want to be starting at the back now!
