Anyone up for fun around Rome?:D Rules are simple: normal cars only (no race models;) ), no wallriding. Tune your car with as much crap as you want, but only normal tires are allowed.:) Horsepower limit is 350 HP.;) Times are due in by January 10th.

hey!I just tried out your challenge and I detuned my AE86 Trueno (Shigeno Version) down to 445 HP so it could compete, and here is my time ------

1:30.002

that's out of running 15 laps consecutively, and of course I didn't wallride and I started out using Medium tyres, then I was like,"uhhh...wait a minute..I'm supposed to use Normal tyres!",so the first 3 laps were slow, then I just kept beatin' my ghost down with Normal tyres, till I got that time,so..hope you have more competitors soon!

sorry,I meant to put 345,I made a typo =P,my Trueno can't reach up to 445 ^_^.sorry for the typo.my Trueno's max HP is 375 and I detuned it to 345 so it can compete.once again, sorry for the typo :P

ah,I meant to put that my max HP for my Trueno is 380,ahhhh!I'm typing out sooo many typos!ahhh, very sorry!the actual maximum limit to an AE86 Trueno (Shigeno Version) is 387,but mine was 380,so I detuned it to 345!there...whew...said it all right..

Well, sorry to end your moment of glory AE86, but I just pulled off a time of 1'25.310 after 6 laps (and ironically, that was actually my only clean lap that I ran) with the Motorsport Elise.

Parts/Purchases:
Full Suspension Kit
Sports Brakes
Brake Balance Controller
Semi-Racing Muffler
Racing Muffler
Port Polish
Full Engine Balancing
Computer Chip
Triple Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Full Limited Slip
Turbo Kit Stage 2
Weight Reduction Stage 3
Oil Change

(I originally bought the Racing Muffler and it came out to 336hp. When I purchased the oil change, the power exceeded the limit at 353hp. I then bought the Semi-Racing Muffler to bring it down to 346hp)

For any competition where the car can't exceed 350hp, this is probably THE car to use, that is, if you can tame it. Its combination of a lightweight body mixed with mid-engine layout is simply unrivaled. The Elise is a pretty difficult car to drive, especially when considering the fact that only use normal tires can be used in this competition. To be effective, you will need to use lower spring rates than normal so the car won't jump so (as) much when going over rumble strips. If you want to try it out, I believe you could have some fun with it since the combination of normal tires and lightweight allows it to drift through the corners (and I know how crazy you are about drifiting).

I congradulate you on beating my time Fury =D!yes,I happen to love drifting very much,so I might try a lil grip driving with a LanEvo tuned down to about 350 exactly or 349,I can't remember ^_^.or I'll just try a different car..maybe one that'll have a higher top speed, better than my AE86 Trueno (Shigeno Version).and about ending my moment of glory..the only glory I had in posting that earlier post was actually correcting all the typos I had :P!

The best of luck to you guys on your times!

Of course the hp will rise after a while, so it may be a good idea to go well under the cap to ensure it's not passed.

the horsepower won't rise if you've already had the car broken in.^_^,after a certain amount of mileage on a car,it can't increase any more horsepower.sorry,I didn't refer to the LanEvo I was gonna grip race with, was the one I bought a looooooong time ago. It's got a little over 1200 miles on it.So I know it isn't gaining any horsepower, hehe :D

For some reason, I'm not allowed to view the "Remove the curse" post that you (AE86) made, but I was able to view it before. I did the challenge and am therefore posting it here.

Car Used: Honda CR-X del Sol

Parts/Purchases:
Full Suspension Kit
Semi-Racing Muffler
NA Tune Up Stage 2
Port Polish
CPU Chip
Twin Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Soft Tires
Lightweight Stage 1
Oil Change

Total: $74,550

Grand Valley Speedway II

Best Lap Time (after 6 laps): 2'03.627
Top Speed: 137mph
Low Speed: 39mph
Speed at Start/Finish Line: 123mph

T1: 0'26.208
T2: 0'58.872
T3: 1'26.156

This is probably not the best car to use for this challenge, but I didn't base my car choice on that but rather which was my favorite. The combination of low power (like 262hp) with the soft tires made for some more than capable handling, and the understeer was, for the most part, a non-factor. However, I probably ran the suspension a little too stiff which resulted in the car jumping a bit when i went over the rumble strips at the chicane. With the right car choice and tuning, I expect this time to be beat.

*My 1 year anniversary of being here at GTPlanet! Woohoo!

^_^,I didn't post that challenge!that was Talentless' fault =P.he so called "bumped" my post and edited the last sentances.I originally said,"I bet the moderator will just delete this thread from the forum, just so it can be back to 666",and he changed the ending to my post...the bastard :P.well, anyways,I wouldn't post up an FF challenge anyways, cause I've got ENOUGH challenges on my hands already :P,if I ACTUALLY posted another one, then A. I would've labeled it differently, than just starting a challenge inside a different topic. B. I'm only good with 1 FF vehicle, and that's the Spoon Civic, and since I like to make challenges to where me and my opponent BOTH have a chance, that would be another reason I wouldn't post that..cause I know like,EVERYBODY could blow away ANY of my times made with my Spoon Civic, since, like I said..that's the only FF vehicle I'm good at driving. C. I don't post a challenge where you have a limited amount of money to spend on a car,I make some limitations to buying parts,or a certain HP limit :D. and D. the last and final reason is cause the challenge looked only like 1 to 2 sentances long :odd:!that would be a mircale if I could post like 1 or 2 sentances for a challenge..much less just a regular post like this :P.besides,I don't like that course that he mentioned about having the FF challenge on anyways,I suck at it..so why would I make a challenge for everybody if I sucked at it and couldn't compete with my fellow GT3 fanatics as well?

AE86Driver

P.S. hope I cleared up everything and sorry for the misunderstanding of Talentless' editing posts skills :P

i will give this a go tomorrow. i will probably use the moto elise as it should be the best. its pretty unfair when i see spot races where you have to pick a car under a hp limit, with weight not taken into account. the moto elise will practically kill anything under 400hp, no matter the weight its carrying, because its so much lighter than everything else.

also, when i had to race on rome II for some races a while back, i was uncomfortable first as the track is odd, but after a while it proved really fun and challenging. I found some wierd ways off slimming time down. if this challenge works good, we should try it on rome II next, perhaps with a hp:weight ratio as the limit, not hp.

My time's finally in!:P 1:27.988 in a 285 HP Motorsport Elise.
