The obvious has just been revealed, Ross Brawn will step down as Team Principal at Mercedes AMG F1. Paddy Lowe and Toto Wolff will now lead the team, according to the official press release: http://www.mercedes-amg-f1.com/en/#...-senior-management-transition-for-2014-season

I wonder how Lewis and Nico are are feeling about this, the former more importantly as it was a major factor concerning his move to the team.

Anyway, discuss.

No one person on top? Mercedes are now one step closer to running the team by corporate committee.

They can ask Honda and Toyota how well that works.

Well the sad part is they shouldn't have to since they technically took the remains of the fallen F1 corp. known as Honda (though not before Brawn took it over himself). Sad, because I really have hope for this team after Brawn GP and I rather not see them go back to pre-brawn GP, MGP.

Well, I'd feel sad for him but I'm fairly sure a talented guy like Ross Brawn won't be struggling to find another job for too long.

The only person this is going to bite in the arse is Mercedes. I wonder if Lewis will throw his toys out of the pram? If Mercedes start choking early next season, it will be very easy to point the finger.

Mercedes will miss his brilliant decision making and interpretation skills, I don't think his departure will make much of a difference on the grand scheme of things though. He said he's leaving because it's the right time with it being the end of an era and I think it probably is, the question is where next? Inevitably he's going to be taking a break if he decides to go to another team and he's getting on now so in my opinion he'll call it a day or take up a job in F1 but he won't represent a particular team.

I really am curious about this, I can't see why they would want to get rid of someone whose really second to none in the business.

Hopefully he goes to Williams.

I hope he stays in F1 somehow. It would be a great loss to F1 losing this great figure.

It was said that he was going to do something with Honda again, let's hope if he does it is something WEC related so he can have victory in Sport Car Racing again.
