For those who have run this combo, is the kink just as important as it was in round 1? I imagine with the GT500 car with maxed out down force, it'll be slightly less like winning the lottery, but I could be wrong.

I went home for lunch to run a couple laps and must say its allot easier with this car than it was in round 1. This track is fast as hell now too. It seems like its done in a blink of an eye.

I love this track car combo. And I agree with Fix, the kink is pretty important, but not as important as in round 1 where keeping up the momentum was key. I think ebraking it around the corner after the kink like fix does is important though. :P

Im still off and on with that kink. Do you guys go left of rumble strip or over it on the turn that after the kink and the straight away. Because i can pace for first place untill either the knk or the turn after.

wow, have you guys seen the replay for the leading time in the midwest for rome? just bounced off the wall on that long left hander near the end of the track

Coming on to the home stretch? I noticed in round one that there's an invisible wall that sticks out there. I caught it a couple times and it spun me out. It's about in the area where the sign sticks out from the right.

i'm not good at technical corner terms but it's the one with the double left turn... the guy goes wide on the first to bounce himself and make the second left turn.

I know where you're talking about now. Thanks.

As if putting everyone on a city track would "cure" the unfairness. Should have included damage, or just set the off-track to "real". They really don't get it.

I saw videos of '08 with people bouncing off the hairpins at Eiger...apparently the sponsors didn't.

I don't feel so bad about being 0.012 behind him with a clean lap then. He was one of the ones that was cutting on Indy too.

I don't mind the street courses. I'm actually much faster on them. But the GT car is so annoying. I keep bouncing the car off the right side of that wall just before the long straight.

As posted before, there's a invisible wall in front of the actual wall that can catch you sometimes. Be aware of that. 👍

yeah, i'm beginning to think that sony and pd doesn't have a solution for this because of the penalty system... like every track in GT5 will always have an exploit.

but good luck to everyone! all of these exploits of the game just gets in my head and not making me want to have seat time anymore :grumpy:

Man, I think I've hit my ceiling and I can't believe it. I can't get below 1:06:xx no matter what I do. I always seem to drift wide on the very first corner and end up on the curbing upsetting the balance of the entire car and then before the long straight on the slow left hander I always lose 3 tenths at a minimum wtf am I doing wrong -_-. 43rd and climbing ugh.

Brake slightly earlier and focus on getting back to full throttle as soon as possible. Use this pretty much everywhere around the track! The 3 tenths at the end of the straight before the slow left is likely from not carrying the same amount of speed through the kink. In my opinion, it's the hardest corner on the track to hit right, but keep working on it, slowly rolling in with more and more speed and you'll get faster. Keep braking in the same spot but release progressively earlier and earlier until you roll in too fast to make the corner.

hope this helps a little!

On T1, T2, and T3 you need to be extending the turn so that you are back on throttle in between T1 and T2. Get close to the rumble strips on the outside, but don't touch them.

Appreciate it, I'll try again in a little while. I spent like 10 hours today between the two courses and I'm a little burned out/disappointed with myself. Thanks guys.

Dug this up from Round 1 Tech Discussion

Thanks, I stole the numbers, I think the other map is a little clearer. It doesn't look professional how I did it but it gets the job done, hopefully we have enough time to discuss before deadline.

Wow, great time dude 👍 That should fill up your cushion a bit more :P

Yeah no kidding. Man I'm ecstatic about that. I had a ghost lap loaded but had the car turned off. I knew it was close, but when I came out of the last turn and hit the 'ghost on' button and was just barely ahead of him, I couldn't believe it. :dopey:

Hey guys. Need some help again. I can run +/-0.10 within 1:06.4 all day. Lap after lap after lap. I'm super consistent, but my times are slow as hell. Occasionally, I'll post a 1:05.8 ish, but it seems to happen completely at random so I can't quite pinpoint what I'm doing differently to improve. And this only happens once every hour or two, so for all intents and purposes, my times are mid to low 1:06's. I've posted my hotlap replay (1:07.784). I would really appreciate if anyone could have a look and let me know what I'm doing wrong or where I can pick up some time. I've been working on this track relentlessly and I'm at my wits end.

Im not very fast by any means on this track/car combo but I can say you should deffinetly try using bumper cam lol, that way you can see everything in front of you 👍

Ill leave the technical advice up to the faster guys

Turn 1 braking point is good but don't stay full brake as long. I hit rbakes hard @ 100m quickly downshift to 3rd and take as much brake off as I can to get the back end around then get on throttle in 3rd and make quick upshift to really drive through that tough section.
