'Tis a good car! Great off-roader, earned me loads of points dirt drifting..
RR drivetrain is also found on the RUF BTR, not much between the two in terms of performance, Yellowbird perhaps has the edge.
Because of its rear engine set up you still get good forward drive even when the wheels are spinning. This, combined with quite tall gearing and the soft-power delivery of the engine means you can drive it really hard on N3 tyres and be fast. It also enters corners with a nice controllable neutral attitude. It really is just like the famous videos of it being caned around the Nordschleife.
Has alot of power, but that does not mean you should use it all at once now.
Handles great but can be "too good" as its light front end makes it prone to oversteer (coupled with the immense power delivered at the rear and the odd weight balance for those not used to RR's).
Drive it gently at first figure out its snapping points and the effects of the weight transfer then when you get comfortable push it 10 more KMH every lap.
@streetcleaner - Do you mean the best time in the Yellow-Bird or our best ever ? I haven't driven the YB on the Nürburgring so far, my best time is 5:18.xxx in the Pescarolo (pad, AT and Super-Soft tyres)
I think both the BTR and the Yellow Bird are excellent power-oversteer cars. Reportedly, Before the Vauxhall VXR8, a Yellow Bird was The Stig's portable drifting machine.
