Completely gorgeous? I don't know. It doesn't look anything special graphics-wise imo judging by that trailer. I hope next gen is much more than that, because in some parts of that trailer, GT6 looked better (no joke). It does have great sound though. If people are to judge by looks, Driveclub would be the go to racing game on the PS4. The Xbox One has Forza 5.

I think PCars will do as well as Codemaster's F1 series. The casuals make up for the majority of game sales, so great physics won't matter much as to the hardcore (which makes the minority of sales) and Drivelcub on the PS4 may just be enough for PCars to have some competition on the market.

.... uhhhh. Well everyone has there own opinion.

Right, but some refrain form using words like fact and actually in their opinions.

I think that PCars advertising itself as a SIM will hurt sales more than anything. No serious SIM has sold well on consoles as far as I'm aware.

Which serious sims are you referring to on consoles?

Do you think there is a single person on the entire planet that bought GT5 and isn't aware that there is a GT6?
Yes. I know two in fact. Both people who bought GT5 as a result of the 'hype' that surrounded it's launch.

Of course, if you mean GTPlanet...then no.

@eSZee is this what game you mean?

I thought your post was funny, whether meant to be serious or not.
The last one was meant to be funny too. I think I'm getting good at this. 👍

I'm also spamming up the place so I'm out of here.

OK enough slow chat now chaps, even though I contributed to it. Besides, too much camaraderie can't be good. Let's get back to attempting to envision the glorious future of Gran Turismo. Or moaning, whatever floats your boat.

Ok...

... Let me try.

*cough*

Don't get excited for a rumor.

You will feel bad.

... Just don't, OK?

Different generation, different games. Even a true sim can have driving aids, softer tires and easier modes for beginners. Thing is, PCars doesn't need to sell 10 million to be successful. It doesn't have a $60Million budget and it's on all the consoles + PC. 4 or 5 million on all platforms I think would be a raging success and would certainly take some momentum and sales away from GT7P or the full GT7, depending on the timing. At this point, if the VGChartz figures prove accurate and digital sales are about half of disc sales (lots of assumptions), PD can't afford to lose any sales at all.

If pcars sells 5 million copies I will eat a bird house.

A game which is going to be released on 3 different platforms (PS4/XBONE and PC) has more of a chance of selling that amount than a game that releases in just one.

Plus this game is getting massive hype (which I truly laugh at) and it is in a good position since Forza´s 5 micro-transaction debacle and cut down content (more DLC´s than an actual game...), and Gran Turismo´s inconsistency/flaws/disappointments/etc of the latest games (for a lot of people, not just the ones who bought it), which both are also opening doors for others to grab some pieces of the cake.

So yeah pCARS "is in advantage" (or it seems like) on consoles at least...on PC with Assetto Corsa, GSC 2013, rFactor 2 and iRacing is not that easy to compete...for hardcore simracers the "eye candy" factor (graphics) does nothing if the simulation aspect is bad. (which is being worked out...but far as good to me at the moment)

In other news more related to the topic (kind of), maybe Drive Club will be released on April 9th...which "opens the gate" for a possible "Gran Turismo 7: Resurrection of Faith" on the PS4 at the end of the year or early 2015.

PS: I made that name up...it sounds really cool though.

Here the link to the rumour in case some people haven't seen it: http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2306690/ps4_driveclub_release_date_unintentionally_revealed.html

It could be "Gran Turismo 7: Resurrection of Faith" or "Gran Turismo 7: The Final Chapter". :mischievous:

At this pace, if PD don't get their 🤬 together, GT8 will be made by Driveclub people.

*Opinion. It isn't something I'm rooting for, although I think that a current age and western minded developer would be very welcome news to the series.

I don't expect it to or even half that.

This was already posted and mentioned a couple times. The consensus is that it's a mistake as only one person saw it and none of the retweet links show and 4/9 or 9/4 are not the usual release days for EU.

Guys, I've solved the riddle?!!

GT6 came out 12/6/13 and DriveClub is coming out 4/9/14. That's 124 days apart. 1+2+4=7.

DriveClub is GT7!!! :mischievous:

If PCars get some approachable learning curve, with aids and all of that, casuals will be hooked by the amazing visuals of the game and 5 million copies will be pretty easily achiavable.

If all comes down to a very technical game, a trully simulator, with no compromises to a broader audience, then no, it won't sell this much.

Anyway, you could count two copies on me. One for PS4 and one for PC (maybe).

Too bad we can't wager something via trade in GT7 (or maybe we can:lol:). 5 million would be an over the top raging success and what we should look forward to is just that. If it dies a quick and painful death, PD/Kaz will only be re-energized into producing more middle of the road games and be assured that casuals are where the market is at without the need to cater to anyone that wants real racing. That won't be good for anyone.

I'd love to lose that bet.

Fair enough. I just don't see a game featuring mostly race cars selling well, even if it's on 3 platforms. Look at the F1 games for example

But F1 is different. People don't bother to buy one because they know that couple months later, there will be another one, which end up being pretty much the same game.

We won't see a PCars every year.

F1 games aren't iphones. They only come out once a year.
The problem with sales might be that the game comes out towards the end of the season.
