Sorry to rain on your parade, but we've known this since May 7th, 2006...

Leftlanenews.com
Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne said during a conference call Wednesday that the Alfa Romeo brand will return to the United States in late 2007. Over the past few months, rumors intensified of Alfa’s return, but they were not officially confirmed until Wednesday. The cars are expected to be distributed through the existing Maserati dealer network. The new Alfa Brera Spider and and 159 Sportwagon (and/or sedan) will most certainly be among the vehicles headed for U.S. shores. We also have a sneaking suspicion that Alfa might coincide the U.S. rollout with the launch of the production 8C Competizione.

Oh, here is the origional thread as well...

Again, sorry to rain on your parade...

As YSSMAN pointed out, it's been known for a while. The internet tends to be faster than print... ;)

Use an "F" instead of "PH." I had no idea what this thread was about until I saw "headed 'cross the pond"...that's when I figured you were referring to Alfa Romeo.

Oh, and I guess "Belle" has two L's in it...but I didn't know that until I typed "molto bele" into Google. :)

i missed the thread, then. probably when I couldn't get on for a while

Are bravo and charlie coming too?

By the way - I've heard this rumor in every calendar year since 2003. In fact, a magazine article stated in 2003 that they would with absolute certainty be in the United States by model year 2006.

I'd bet a tidy sum that Alfa doesn't show up in 2007. Takers?

Well, the MT article does mention that they'll be releasing the face-lifted versions of current models, so it puts the date no earlier than late 2008.
