Hey man, what do you know about the RX-8s arival in the States? Surely there's a set day we can expect to see it in showrooms and take it for a test drive. What colors are going to be available? What kind of models will there be? What are the price ranges? Will there be major improvements over the first few years? What follows the RX-8, assuming it makes a good showing? Will Jay Leno get one? Is there actually going to be a custom baby seat accessory package?

I want details! (:

Just check out MAZ and you'll find out everything you need to know.

Sorry I didn't see this thread...

The RX-8 arrives in the US next spring...there is no set date as of now. Colors...that's a sore subject...all of the pics that I've seen are yellow, but I'm pretty sure that the RX-8 will be in the colors that are shown on GT3.

The RX-8, I'm guessing, will be soon followed by a 2 door version, and that might be called the RX-7. The baby seat is in there, I've seen several pics with it.

As for models...I only expect 1 model, however there could be options. Price should be around $30K.

Improvements...hmm...probably a turbo option, power would be around 280hp. Mazdaspeed will most likely make several versions of it.

You see, it's still too far away to have all of the details. What is fact is that it has a 250HP Renisis Rotary engine that revs to 9K rpm, and it's RWD, 4 seater, pushbutton start, suicide back doors, and a 6 speed.

And about my club, Loud, you joined it before you left GTP remember?!

yea sorry about that Loud, Mazda isn't giving out a lot of info at all...I still haven't seen a color list for the 6, and that comes out in 3 months...

Well, I've seen the RX-8 in blue, red, yellow and black. I assume those will be production colors. Possibly there will be a white, gray/silver, and maybe a green as well. I read somewhere that the interior leather will match the exterior paint. With that in mind, blue and gray would be my choices.

Actually from my source in Mazda Motorsports, the factory turbo is supposedly going to put out around 300hp. But Japan has a regulated hp on factory turbo cars of 276hp, then when it comes to the states its detuned anyway, so who knows. It's gonna be a kick as car anyway.

The rotors in the car go round and round.............

Wouldn't rush out to buy one stright away, as with most cars there'll only be one engine available on release (as MazKid said):gcar:

Wait maybe 6 months for any teething problems to get sorted and expect more engine/package options :D

Oh, absolutely. I plan to give them a year to work out any problems before I buy one - if I buy one.
