The problem with the RX-8 is not the handling, it is the transmission. It has very little torque, and the stock gear spacing is TERRIBLE. Buy the racing transmission and tighten up the gear spacing a bunch.

And I would leave the suspension alone. As it is, the RX-8 handles its stock power (and a bit more...) pretty well.
