Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO (PS4/XB1/PC) - Milestone

Last thing I'll say on it so as not to clutter up the thread:
Specifications, drivetrains, widths (via flares and increased track) all change, but the basic bodyshell (the body-in-white) does not. That is part of the homologation process. The roof shell (and therefore the doors and windows) does not change from Xsara Kit Car to Xsara WRC or from Fiesta R2, R5, or WRC.

They are different cars. Which bit don't you get.

The Citroens are totally different. Not even same gen bodyshell.

The Xsara's bodyshell was unchanged when it got a new front clip. It's how manufacturers make an aging design look fresh on the cheap.

Actually it can, as it depends on what model year and what specific car its homologated from.

In the case of the Fiesta, Ford has four different versions from four different model years in current homolgation (i.e. not lapsed). The WRC, R5 and R2 are not based on the same version of the Fiesta (standard and ST in the case of the R2 and R5).

Well yes, the two Xsaras in the game are based on different models of the Xsara. The Xsara models aren't that different though. The second one was merely a facelift, which admittedly had some bigger changes, but the roofline and the body in general, as it can be seen from the pictures, remained mostly unchanged between the two models. (Talking about the road cars only.)

Standard and ST share an identical body-in-white across all four model years in question.

EDIT: And I apologize to the people who just came in here to see how the game is.

I found this online.....home sick today.

Ford are saying this new car is based on the Fiesta ST, which we all know doesn’t really mean anything as the only parts this car has in common with a road going Fiesta are little more than the shell and lights, which are not ST specific. It’s pretty clear that the ST naming is to create association with the ST road car, which will be available in the US, but unfortunately only as a five door, whereas we in the UK get the arguably sportier looking three door.

I have to say the more I play SLR the more I like it.

The rally stages are excellent, good length and a brilliant mixture of high and low speed corners and the length allows speed to build up making them more challenging.

The Rallycross is wonderful fun, and its good to see Joker's included as they should be.

The car range is nice and varied and I'm still having a lot of fun in the 2WD stuff.

So far the physics have also shown a lot more depth than I had expected.

I was looking forward to this game. But im struggling to want to back a dev that is trying to extort money. These prices and this model is shocking. Besides the fact you have to buy the track for each of the 3 cars, it hasnt escaped me that this gravel track and cars have been put to the side and withheld back from the game when clearly they were bulit with the game ready for release.

After Ride too im not too willing to support milestone. Yea i know i dont have to but the dlc, but the price they hve put on it tells me they are taking the mick out of gamers. Guess what happens if they dont sell a single DLC? time for gamers to stop being mugs

It might be worth it if you get the Season Pass, if there is enough new content it could be worth it. But I am concerned with how expensive a car and reskinned track is.

You get the '88 Pikes Peak track as well, making it slightly better value.

Unless you already have it, which then makes it stupidly expensive again.

I have no intention of buying them at that price.

Its still ridiculously expensive compard to Pcars where for approx. 2/3 of the cost you get 4 cars and a new track.

I didn't see an update for the demo, which is a shame. Wasn't able to play it due to no T500RS support on the PS4 (my T300+PC is in another room), so can't really make a call on whether it's worth getting or not.

EDIT: Eurogamer reviewed the PS4 version and wasn't very complimentary: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-01-29-sebastien-loeb-rally-evo-review

[worried I'll end up disliking it and playing DiRT Rally in absolute max settings on the PC instead]

I got a PS4 with T500. You need to adjust the settings for the feedback, but it does work relatively well. Better than WRc 4 on the PS3. But you need to download the 6GB patch for the compatibility.

So got the game on ps4...will be using a T300...Any suggestions on ffb settings? I played the demo with T300 but ffb felt way to strong...

Im on a T500. I tend t find the strong feedback from impacts very jarring and the motor is unnaturally strong compared to a vehicle (my only experience of 'racing vehicles' is karting. As such i have my feed back settings very low. But they give a good mix of feel without the jarring wheel snaps.

FFB 45%
Vibration 40%

Down side is that light cars like the mini have only very faint resistance while WRC Evo cars are very strong feedback.

The weather is fixed, you can only change time of day
A bit disappointing but they at least have nailed the weather for the time of year the rallies run in the WRC.

I decided to pull my T100 wheel out of the closet last night (it's been sitting there since a couple of weeks after I bought it, it was thoroughly disappointing after years with Logitech wheels - also DriveClub plays extremely well on the DS4) but couldn't get it to register at all in Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo.
I know it's not a fully supported PS4 wheel (doesn't work in the system menus) but it has worked fine in DriveClub and Project Cars. Oh, well, this game fortunately plays well enough on the DS4 too - I was just curious how it might feel with a wheel.

Not a fan of season passes as sometimes i buy a new game i was looking forward and dont think much of it. I have not had cod ops 2 for very long and i am incredibly bored of it already without playing it too much. I wasnt expecting that at all, fortunatelty i didnt get the season pass.

I will pick up SLR when i get a compatible wheel as i found this game pretty decent with the DS4 unlike WRC3 which i loved with the wheel so i've no doubt i will love this game too with a wheel

This is good to hear, i have read lot of silly comments on youtube such as "this game is trash" before its even released, or "graphics are a joke" "dirt rally will blow it out of the water" etc. Its like one huge pissing contest and no one actually cares about playing the games and enjoying them
