Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO (PS4/XB1/PC) - Milestone

From the videos I've seen it still seems o need a lot of work. FWD cars seem to handle like on rails as long as front wheels are on ground and AWD ones understeer without a hint of oversteer..

I have to say the more I play SLR the more I like it.

The rally stages are excellent, good length and a brilliant mixture of high and low speed corners and the length allows speed to build up making them more challenging.

The Rallycross is wonderful fun, and its good to see Joker's included as they should be.

The car range is nice and varied and I'm still having a lot of fun in the 2WD stuff.

So far the physics have also shown a lot more depth than I had expected.

Oh no, seeing you post this makes me regret not getting it even more. It sounds like it's a proper attempt at the sport.

Generally a FWD should handle like that when set up properly IRL. Understeer is more natural in 4WD cars due to the weight transfer.

I've seen FWD rallycars in action, if anything, they understeered through most corners unless handbrake was applied. AWD cars were more of thee neutral/oversteer kind of deal.

I've experience both under and oversteer roughly as I would expect; what I would say is that nothing feels likes it on rails when you actually driving it.

Its a pretty good attempt in my opinion, how it compares to Dirt Rally when that arrives will be interesting, until then I'm finding it better than expected for my rally fix.

I think the rallying in this game is very well done. However they seriously need to iron out the issues and give every stage the same graphical quality of San Remo, Finland and Wales. Almost all stages have some beautiful settings but also all the stages have some truly low detailed hideous backgrounds. During gameplay you don't notice it much but in replaymode it's obvious. Also as said before they need to fix the "floating" of the cars in replaymode. It's very noticable on all the none tarmac stages.

I hope Milestone achieves to patch out those issues. The core of the game is awesome and I am very satisfied with the overal expérience. The more you play the more it comes together.

With this game they show some true potential!

Group B in Finnskogen at night. Was quiet a nerve racking experience :D

question about those snow banks? Are they solid or do they have some "soft"ness where you can brush them in a shower of snow, bleed off some speed, without the car acting like it just hit a tree?

It depends: the snowbanks can " pull" at the car and the slow you down. Some banks you can take easier as others while there are a few that cover up some rocks or ice which damage your car.

I haven't read through all of this I apologize, but was there a reason given why it'll hit NA late?

So, I played the demo for this on PC a week or so back, and was hugely underwhelmed (poor sound, poor physics, terrible FFB on a G27, graphics were okay - and an annoying jump from 30 fps to 70 fps and back through the demo stage).

Was any of this cleared up in the production version for PC? I'm not a graphics snob, but sound/physics Dirt Rally was leaps and bounds better. As much as I'm a rally fan, I saw nothing near $60 worth of quality in the demo. Can someone compare the demo to the actual PC release game?

At this point I'll be waiting for a 50-75% off sale in a year's time. Shame as I like the number of stages and a lot of the cars are decent - better starting list than Dirt Rally in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with physics. Feels realistic and weight transfer is way better than Dirt.

PS my Juha Kankunnen tribute car ;)

That seems like an odd choice for a Kankkunen tribute car, considering it's one of the cars he never won a race in. Especially when you consider the game has three of his four WRC title winning cars in it :P

PS. I'm a big Kankkunen fan, so thumbs up for your tribute car, even if it's a weird choice :gtpflag:👍

That's absolutely the polar opposite to my experience with the demo. Are you saying that the demo and the release game are hugely different?

Hi there guys,

I just try the WRC demo on the PS4 with a T500, and i realy didn´t like the FFB.
What can you guys tell me about SLR FFB wise, it's any diferent from WRC5?

Thanks

Love the sound of the old Mini - just like I remember it :) Handles pretty much the same too and I don't care that it's probably the slowest of the old classics, I'm having fun wringing the best time I can from it. Pike's Peak next!

Sounds like we should start ourselves à small competition ;)

My times done in time trail don't seem to be uploading onto the leaderboard?! Anybody experiencing the same problem or am I doing something wrong?

After playing the full game I went back and reran the demo, to me they feel a lot different. The demo IMO has cost them sales, there are so many better car/track combinations they could have used.

It is not at Project Cars level but, for me it is much better than WRC5, closer to GT5/6 FFB. I do like my Fanatec wheel better than my T300 though, on wheel adjustments help.

Same here, the only time that posted for me was the very first lap on Stage 1 of Pikes Peak (1:41:707), my subsequent faster lap (1:40:190) show as my fastest and as my ghost but, does not register on the leaderboard :(

At the very least the tracks are worth it at 32 unique stages with reverses plus pike peak, and every one is a real rally stage. Plus the car roster is better than Dirt rallies as it has more complete classes. Oh and you can run any car on pikes peak (These are most of the issues I have from what research I have done into dirt rally). Plus Phisics aren't terrible. At the very least it is a good simcade game with a tone of variety.

Also since your PC you might want to read this from PRC: http://pretendracecars.net/2016/01/31/the-only-review-of-sebastien-loeb-rally-evo-you-need-to-read/
