But there's one comparison it must stand up to: Is it as good or better than RBR besides graphics?

Well thanks to the positive vibes in this thread I am now the proud owner of the full game + season pass. Downloading now.
I've been playing DiRT Rally (and RBR) lately on my T300 on the PC, but it seemed logical to get SLRE on the PS4 since it's clearly less buggy there than on the PC. So it'll be interesting to compare to SLRE on the PS4 using my T500 to DR on the PC using my T300
I will be interested in your thoughts, I also have the T500 and am so tempted to down load this from PSN store does anyone exactly what the special edition comes with ?,
So far I have held off my purchase as reviews so far are very different, I look forward to your thoughts.

Hello WhoosierGirl, Like the game, but my CSW v2 shake like hell, I tried several adjustments on wheel, but the vibration continues! is it possible you publish your settings ?
Thanks !!

That was my impression too, from the first foray onwards.Yes, I think this is the spiritual successor to RBR.
Modern WRC cars use 540 degrees in reality, but older cars will use 720 or even 900 degrees. That's a lot of spinning the wheel. I'm not good enough to hold slides comfortably in say an old Escort at 900 degrees in RBR or DiRT Rally (not tried SLRE enough yet), so I just use the comfort zone of 540.I have my steering angle set to Auto ( T300, PS4 ).
I see some of you using as low as 540 degrees.
I thought the game defaulted to the "right" steering angle depending on the car.
Do you (skazz) use 540 degrees on all cars ?

Doesn't appear that the R5 Turbo pre-order car is available on XB1. Anyone else know otherwise?

Check in game from main menu on "DLC".Doesn't appear on the UK store...
Ok, first impressions:
- after some effort I have the T500 on 30/40 FFB/vibration. Still not really happy, might go even lower, but I'm after communication not purely fighting the wheel and that seems to require very low settings on the T500
- the stage surface manages look flatter that RBR/DR but there is clearly surface detail. I think the graphics and the physics are simply not aligned (road mesh is mapped but not modeled)
- however replays... Argh... Frame rates are appalling, cars appear to float above the shadows cast, and I get the impression that undulations in the road are followed by the car but not visible on the actual environment graphics. How are you guys not complaining bitterly about this (on PS4)? I saw it in the demo but nobody was complaining about it in the full game so I assumed it was fixed.
- draw distance and pop in on PS4 is really not nice, despite the clearly nowhere near 60fps. Coming to SLRE from Driveclub is rather depressing. Coming from PC sims on ultra settings even more so
- some environments look reasonably pretty, some look PS3-era. Why such differences?
- stages are narrow, cars slide, it's certainly a challenge, however I'm not yet feeling the FFB give me any useful information, it's mostly just fighting me. Clearly a couple of stages isn't anywhere enough to figure out what SLRE is trying to tell me
So first impressions are that either I've got the FFB totally messed up or this game is nowhere near the FFB communication of either RBR or DR. I'm expecting to get plenty of play out of it, but so far it doesn't feel like it was worth the full price that I paid.
Let's hope things get better from here....

I think their leader boards are a bit wobbly at the moment. I seem to recall that the previous games were similarly afflicted in the early days too, but think they got fine tuned fairly quickly. I also thought at first that the LB might reflect MP stage times only, but remembered that in WRC 2/3 and 4 the LBs were kept there and worked okay....Was going to try to do the complete Pikes Peak event in time trial mode, times still won't log.
Tried deleting the ghost data from previous runs, nothing worked.
Got my goal of under 1:40 on the first segment at least, not sure if I am doing something wrong after a run to keep the times from showing...
