I've been playing the GT series since day one, I tried drifting with GT4 but failed miserably.
I'm not ready to give up.

Ok, I have a S13. I like the style and I'm glad it's one of the recommended starter cars.
But... I don't know what I'm doing with the set-up.
I've seen various settings from different posts and different threads, but could someone please post or PM me with a complete tune/set-up for my S13. A tune for a newbie.

Also any advice on drifting techniques, speeds and starter tracks would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and I'm using a DS3 pad.

Thanks.
Jay

You'll probably take this the wrong way, but just start off simple, just put on a tune and practice, practice, practice with that single setup alone. You'll learn all the ins-and-outs of the car regardless of the setup, and only you will know the car's quirks.

I can't remember my exact tune, but here's a simple base you can try. Keep in mind I was using a DFGT with no ABS.

Brakes: 2 Front / 4 Rear

Suspension: Maximum lowered ride height in front, 2-3cm higher in rear. Spring rates: 7 F, 6 R. Dampers and Sways 3 all around. Camber: 3.2 F, 0.8 R, Toe: -0.2 F, 0.03 R.

LSD: 60/55/45

Transmission: common sense

Aero: none

Ballast: none

Stage 2 Engine build, Stage 1 Turbo, Stage 3 weight reduction.

Built to about 315hp.

I'm sure I left something out as I'm very tired, but this should give you a good, stable tune to start from. Get comfortable with it and down the road when you know everything about how the car reacts, slowly start tweaking it further. I hope I helped and good luck. 👍

Thanks guys

@Adavicro... No offence taken. Any advice for a guy like me is good advice.

I'll try both of these set-ups tonight when I get on.

I tried the Seasonal Drift events yesterday and failed amazingly.
After trying this set-up I managed to gold both events with a few thousand points over in each.
Needless to say I'm chuffed to bits.

Now to get some more practice in.

Thanks again guys

I suggest don't do drift events if the physics is different. If your planning to play online, join lobbies and see if you can get pointers here and there. I am sure that SFX_Adavicro is always willing to help and so is Knight Spirit

I have no plans to drift online just yet. Need to practice more, but I'll bear that in mind.
I just plan on having some fun and showing off to the missus.

Best place to practice drifting is on your online lounge. Because offline and online physics are different.
