Saleen S7 - 300 MPH Possible?

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum.

I have been Playing GT since the second version came out (GT2). I now own GT3 and GT4. I've been playing GT4 for quite some time now. I have managed to buy a Saleen S7 in GT4, it is also my favorite car in the game.

My current speed results are good but I think they can be better. Currently with my Gear Ratios changed I can reach a Max speed of 285 MPH.

I am attempting to reach the 300 MPH mark. I have been playing around with the gear ratios but nothing close so far.

Anything I can do to reach 300 MPH? Any Gear Ratio numbers are appreciated. 👍

To elaborate on that, I remember them mentioning in that thread that it was a particularly difficult car to get to 300 mph, requiring expert tuning and still reaching only 300.04. Elite top speed tuners are reluctant to share exact settings, so you might be out of luck in your mission to get the Saleen to 300.

it is possible, now getting someone to reveal their settings on how is going to be a catch. the Saleen isnt an easy car to get over 300 mph so one wont be to willing to share that accomplishment.

I think Toronado is the ONLY person to crack 300mph in the Saleen. He won't share that info very easily either, unless he's really really REALLY drunk or stoned.

I'm not saying Toronado drinks or smokes, it's just going to be easier getting blood out of a stone!

 But are you saying Toronado drinks and smokes? Wait, did you say that already? Because if he's stoned and he drinks....

....wait, what were we talkin about? :dunce: I forget, dude.

On topic now (sort of), I just want to add I was extremely disappointed with the S7. I don't think PD got it right. It's supposed to generate tons (literally) of downforce as speed rises, to the point that it's theoretically supposed to be possible to drive it upside down in real-life. But the way it is in the game, the Saleen S7 just understeers more and more as speed rises. 👎 Annoyingly. And its brakes suck, too.....nothing like I've read the real-life car is supposed to be. 👎

Tried to buy a wing kit, but no--it's a "car that cannot accept a wing" or whatever. It winds up being too powerful for alot of races, but too crappy to drive for the races in which its power would be more competitive. :grumpy:

yea the Saleen does have a huge problem with understeer and grip or the lack there of. it almost feels pointless to drive honestly. the braking is an issue all in itself. MR cars generally wont brake as good as an FR, FF, or 4WD, but aside from that the brakes just LACK on the Saleen. its a great car to look at i must say, but looks dont win trophy's in Gran Turismo, its part of the reason my S7 sits at 43.8 miles.

Yup, that's what I'm saying. I found it to be such a huge disappointment overall. Yea, it's fast as hell, but so what? if it can't keep its own speed around a track. :grumpy:

yea were on the same page, id rate it at oohhh a modest 2.5/5, if it werent for looks it would be rated lower.

I think this car can... My brother have this car and I could ask him to try going 300MPH but it's gonna be a bit hard on setup though...

Longer gearbox, harder suspension, lower the car, reduce the toe a bit and don't touch the camber, reduce wing and voilla!!! If you really want to see how fast it is, let Bob drive the car :D

oh were not saying it inst a fast car, the problem is using the speed it has. sure its a super car but it drives like super crap compared what its real life duplicate, which is a much better car.

Yeah of course it's a game... But yeah I understood...

no biggie, there are some cars i should say almost all that drive or responds like or slightly better than the actual. Saleen S7 isnt one of em. GT is like an exact science in my opinion.

Some of those are incorrect, but most notably the downforce on the Saleen is unadjustable.

Yes I know... I made this not only for the Saleen... It's actually for all cars. If the car has got no wing, then why and how can you set the wing??? So leave it and look for the other... Like suspension or Gearbox but, the car has to be modified first... Only racing car where you don't have to modified for sure and obviously...

But you told us to set the wing, apparently in reference to this thread, which is all about the Saleen S7.

I wanna go a little off-topic now. In GT2, there were a couple supercars I can think of which PD "got it right", so far as aerodynamics go, even tho they haven't initially got modifyable downforce. These are the Vector M12 and Vector W8. These two (in real-life) are supposed to have all sorts of air ducts and passages located thruout their bodywork which creates additional downforce as speed rises. The effect can be felt (oddly) in GT2, since these cars become grippy enough to race them up against some "real" race cars with downforce and such. Maybe not 100% realistic, but certainly a better effort than the Saleen in GT4. 💡

Owh I might have made a mistake... But this just an extra info that he might want to use on another car without posting another topic regarding to ''How to go 300MPH'' but I think he wouldn't... So my intention was to give the basic setup for all cars... Perhaps a mistake to post it in here though... Sorry :(

so where does 325 mph rank? i saw a post photo with someone going 301 mph in a R92CP, i knew i could easily top that with mine, but where's 325 mph ranked at? is that any good as top speed results? i have a yellow and silver Audi R8 bouncing at 306 mph, i haven't got back around to re-tuning the tranny just yet. i know it can go way faster than 306 mph, i just been awfully lazy.

yea that's where i posted my photo at, check it out it kinda sucks a bit my cell Samsung camera is VGA.
