Saving Championships

How do you continue a saved Championship?  I've raced 5 of the 10 GT World Championship races, saving after each one, then exited the game.  I came back later and loaded the game, but hitting Series Race starts me at the first race, and directly selecting the next race in order just puts me into a single race event.

What am I missing here?

It's a SERIES race... You have to run them in succession - during the same gave. That's the challenge!

Well the REAL challenge is playing long enough to do that without the wife and kid screaming at me!

Maybe you could explain this from the GT3 game guide over at ign.com...

GETTING THE PRIZE CAR YOU WANT


Save your game before the last race in a championship series that you have at LEAST an 11-point lead over the second place opponent.
Start the final race and quit out of it. Since you had an 11-point lead over the closest opponent, you'll still win the race series and get the bonus car.
If the prize car you're awarded is the one you want, then keep it and move on. If it's not the car you want, then go back and Load your save game from before the last race and repeat the process until you get the prize car that you were hoping for.

Is this impossible to do?

To win the car and prize money, you have to race in the Series Race, you cant just race them at random. You can save during the series and when you load the game it takes you right to the next race.

haha, same happened to me. You do not exit out of the series at the Menu screen, that makes you forfeit the entire tournament. You wait till the race begins, press the start button then exit. You default to sixth place. IGN's way works if, like it says, you've won enough races before that to have an 11 point lead. When you want to save just select it in the menu immediately after your race in the series.

If you save a game in the middle of a series, and later try to load that game, it should bring you right to the current race of the series (actually the end of race you completed last).  You should not have to go through the normal menu to get to the race.  I.E. you shouldn't have to go amateur, European Championship.  All you should have to do is hit next to get the to the next race.
