Saving Endurance Races?

I've been following the discussion on the 24h Nurburgring Endurance Race. It seems for the moment that nobody has found out how to save the game during the race (while pitting for example).

This seems really incredible to me: it cannot be that you're supposed to run races of more than 6 hours in one time without the possibility of saving it.

Has someone the right answer to this question? Or has someone discovered how to do it?

1twojay said that there is save during 24H race but hyde on the other hans said no,so I'm really confused

he said that there is no save during race, but there is a save during pit stop. that's how I got it ...

Yeah, we definately need clarification on this. I took the ordeal as you can't save in the middle of an enduro, only championships.

Which, yeah, uhm, definately isn't good.

Play in B-Spec mode.

Which is the maximum speed of the B-Spec (3x or 6x)? If it's 3x, it still takes 8 hours to make a race!

Other question concerning the gamescore up to 100%: is there a different score for A-spec or B-spec? If yes, it will be very hard to obtain 100% in A-spec if there is no saving while pitting.

Suggestion for those who have the game: (can someone try this please?)

Do the enduro, go pitting and while pitting, push on the start button. What happens: does it just say "continue" or "quit" or is it perhaps here that you have the save-possibility.

In any case, if I had made the game, it's there that I would have put it.

somebody above said that u coukd save during pits and not while driving so I guss there is save

Yup this is really bothering me too. 24 hour race with no save is definitely not good news for the PS2's dvd drive!

Clarification is needed. When Hyde stated "you can't save mid-race". Does he mean while "racing itself", or not at all during endurance.

If you can save whilst in pits that is fine, but if saving is completely out then that is bad bad news.

Surely KY wouldn't have expected 24 hour race without save feature.

Sure you can run in B-Spec, but I'm sure many of us would like to drive the whole race over a period of several days?

Even if there was no saving while racing at all, whats wrong with pausing it and leaving it for hours, even days. That what I did with some of the GT3 endurances.

Good idea dude. I did the longest race on a wheel with a mate, we took turns when we pitted!!!

exactly what me and a mate are gonna do, we pick a weekend, and just like a reall 24h race, we will switch turns, and play it from 16.00 till 16.00!

awsomness!

thats what me and my brother do for all the enduro races. But 24hrs........jeez thats a long race in a room. I will pause it a leave it for a while when we get tired.

Sony and PD teamed up for this so you have to do a 24 hr. race all at once, thus making your PS2 wear out faster. That you will have to buy another PS2.

If Someone has the 24hr race open then surely this is a simple yes or no answer

Yeah, I've asked this question before and there is no clear answer.........can someone please answer it! Enduro's were one of the things that annoyed me about GT3 and they were half the length and time! .........

Yes....the Tokyo 2 hour even was kind of a killer...even in an F1. 24 hours is pure crazy. :dunce:
That is not "pure carzy" it's insane
I hope someone will answer and confirm the question.

NO. According to everyone else.

THAT is idiotic. I fail to understand how PD can claim to be "perfectionists" yet fail to address having the time of day change for a 24 hr. race. :odd:

I'm sure we'll get this with GT5. It looks like to me that GT4 is still very much an "arcade like" game despite our hopes of something very real. I have yet to see the rainbows we saw in some videos a few months back, as well.

Well in one of the other enduros, the Fuji 1000 which is set for 2 hours and 45 minutes, there is no save. Hitting *Start* while running on track or during pitstops only yielded the option to quit or not. No save.

Whether that is the same for the 24 hour races I am not sure. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
