Has anybody else noticed that when using bonnet/bumper cam, the side of the screen dims when you're passing another car?

I'm sure it's there to warn you that there's a somebody there, but I find it really annoying - can it be switched off?

It only seems to happen on this view.

Yes, It's probably your tv not able to process the data at the frequency high enough for your eyes to not notice the blurred pixels. I've got a couple blur spots also. Pay no attention unless you want to invest in a PC system with 3 video cards dedicated to 3 high resolution/frequency monitors.

Its totally not to do with that...

As the OP mentioned - its to highlight the fact of a driver in your blind spot to avoid contact.

As far as im aware its not possible to switch on/off

It's to indicate someone's passing you on your left or your right. It can't be disabled as far as I know.

I'll have what you're smoking :P

It's there for your and the other drivers' "safety" so you can't use the excuse "I didn't know there was anyone there m'lud"

They've really gotta do something about the overpowered Meganes in Gr.4.

I've never noticed safety features, LOL, some schmuck knocks me off the track once minimum every race. Maybe they could just add a schmuck chuck feature instead of some dimming that just indicates to them when to swerve into their opponents.

Ok thanks folks.

Weird that it only show up in the view that actually has mirrors....but I guess that's cos it's for the blind spot.

It shows up in bumper cam too which is what I use when racing online. It took me a short bit to get used to but I quite like the feature personally.

Edit: I guess your OP mentions you knew about bumper cam... I got confused by you mentioning mirrors sorry. Still, you’re not the only one experiencing it, it is in fact part of the game

Yes that's an indicator that someone is near you on your right/left, there's also the red circles on the corners of the rev meter UI as well as the proxmity radar if you have it selected. In cockpit mode, the indcators aren't present and you have to rely on an almost non-existing mirror and a radar that's so far on the right corner, I wish PD put more effort into making driving in cockpit more accessable to seeing who's around you while racing because right now it's basically a hotlap view right now.
