Seagate HDD in HDD Enclosure

I have a Seagate 9hh13c-500 500GB HDD, and a Diablotek en1828s enclosure. However, I tried to connect it to my Vista laptop and it won't read the hard drive. Any efforts to troubleshoot have proven fruitless. Help?

Did the drive work before you put it in the enclosure?

I managed to perform a upgrade with the drive and install windows 7 on it.
