I dunno if you guys feel the same, but I find looking for car liveries to be quite cumbersome, not to mention the PS4 Pro fan's ramping up while browsing.

I like seeing the most popular tab, since they basically show the best liveries, but there should be a way to filter that by car, rather than going thru the whole list. If you go into search, the results you get are for the day and you need to click "older" for previous days. Seriously, who thought that would be a good idea? You should be able to sort results by "Most downloaded" or "popular" for a specific car.

Whenever I get a duplicate prize car, or in my case yesterday, a 3rd BMW gr.4 car, I go to browse for car liveries to make them "different".

Use www.gran-turismo.com. You get loads of options for searching.

Stupid me. Sure, I had to get the daily reward just after midnight.... :banghead:

Next time I’ll wait for the update and then grab a free car with a chance of new ones on the roulette.

Is it just me, or...: I haven’t bought a single vehicle yet. As long as I can win them... I see no need to buy them. Hm... must be me. :D

Congrats to the lads who won the E30 so early!!!! That’s one car I’m really looking forward to drive!!

Don't get too excited. It handles poorly much worse than I expected especially as you get no feedback from tyres but it spins easily. It's like kicking a door but not being able to feel it - your leg is hanging off before you can react...

Very useful thanks! Although...

Anyone else other than me notice the irony that the best way to use arguably the biggest new feature on a PS4 system seller involves browsing the Internet on your pc tablet or phone or on your ps4 browser if you have a keyboard or fancy clunky typing?

Just my personal opinion, but 90% of liveries on GT are rubbish. There are thousands of great ones, but these do not necessarily rack up that many likes (often many never get into triple figures), that's because likes have zero to do with quality, and everything to do with exposure. Since liking liveries is rewarded in the game, and the easiest liveries to like are the ones at the top of the list, the liveries that where popular early on have remained there.

Yeah, that makes sense. Didn't think of the "like" rewards. I was thinking in the way Forza liveries are handled where most popular are some of the most downloaded.

Search is a lot better now that you can go back in history. IIRC before the February update you can only search the last 24 hours of uploads.

I usually scour the Trending tab as that's updated semi regularly and has the good stuff. The Most Popular tab has stayed stagnant since release as it's based on number of likes (older stuff will always stay near the top no matter what). I haven't figured out what's the criteria for Cool Selections but that seems to show stuff that I've liked/downloaded in the past. Also going through your Collection and scouring the galleries of good livery creators is another good trick 👍

I haven't used the GT website much even though it's more practical because I tried it back in December and my likes/downloads didn't register in game :odd: Dunno if they've fixed it.

My PS4 fan goes into OTT mode as well when browsing. Very annoying. I hope it doesn't significantly shorten its lifespan :nervous:

That‘s because the main menu is still running in the background and the presentation video of the mew cars on that forest road takes a lot of CPU power

Well said! Not that I'm blowing my own trumpet (Well I am actually but shhhhh!) I put a massive amount of effort into my liveries. I have approx 200 yet only 1 is above 100 likes. For example, being a fresh car I thought i would do Jenson Buttons 2017 NSX GT500 from the Suzuka 1000km. For this I wanted ultra detail so to get the gold right i started with a gold base paint and masked the entire car around it, including those eyes on the front wings. It features full carbon fibre lower 3rd and allows You To put your name next to Jenson's to be his co-driver. 406 decals, 11 hours of work and . . . . . 31 likes.

Prove me wrong guys, search function, liveries, #xpower75. Cheers!

Yes, its a popularity thing.
There are a handful of people with thousands of followers who will like and repost literally anything the person puts out then at the other end you have guys making fantastic quality, extremely detailed liveries with next to no followers so it gets no exposure.

Always repost and like quality liveries when you come across them and stop liking and reposting average liveries because you think you get Brownie (brown nose) points or they are your friend/follower.

You clearly miss out on the whole point. You are going to bed. Search up some liveries on your mobile phone and adding them automatically to the game. You are on the toilet way to long. Searching for all the liveries. Playing the game on your tv and browsing with your phone or iPad. Its just brilliant !

Think further !! Get creative :)

What I find most frustrating is when a # hashtag is quite unique or rare and maybe only 30-50 liveries for this, but when you search for it, they won't come up unless they are recently done.

If the most popular etc can have 100(?) or so per page, why can't the search facility do a blanket search to the start of the game and bring up all the relevant liveries for small volume hashtags?

Or if you could manually set the search for certain periods i.e. months - Jan 2018, November 2017 etc etc...

Real issue with the search function is that it won't get rid of the voids. That means if your search only matches liveries uploaded during the first week of the game or with only 1 like, you will have to go through aaaaall the empty pages before finding them. And the game or the website don't tell you when there's no matching results so you're not sure if there's one or none until you got to the very end.

Exactly. They should get rid of the current system and let all the relevant liveries come up in a single page. A bit frustrating to go through all of them and finding nothing or hitting the requests limit and being blocked.

I‘m also pissed of by liveries that don‘t have their color card (?) set up right :banghead:

I completely ditch the search by date and just make different ways of ordering selectable, i.e. by likes, shares, comments, date

I just add my name on tags (crazybutocks) to every livery I do. Wish they just did the last 200 you did on a page and not go by week on week basis

Yeah, having the archive searching by day (with a 3-5 second wait each time for their slow servers to respond) is an insane UX choice. Sure you can use the web site, but you lose the 3D preview. Agreed with other posters that they need to just return results in one lump; no one cares about what day it was posted. And there's other weird choices like making you select a country before you can search for a car or track. I don't know who they have building the search UI, but it's terrible.

Like Lebowski, I spent a ton of time on this super accurate replica livery of Christina Nielsen's 458 GTE, probably over 15 hours. I had to recreate by hand several logos, and getting that linework right was brutal. Only have 29 likes right now, which is fine, I did the livery mainly for myself. So I'm grateful for any likes or comments, but it doesn't seem like quality work like this rises to the top often. It can take me half an hour to find a livery I'm even somewhat happy with for a new car simply because of the search deficiencies and discoverability issues.

Nice livery 👍
Just lacks the correct number board ;) :)

How do you get on the website? Mine just looks like this....
2Eggg.jpg

Click where it says GT Sport Community in the top right, this will take you to the sign in screen where you'll be required to enter you PSN user and pass... should work then... if not, maybe try a different browser.

That's the screen i get when i click community, look at the url ;) in fact it displays that page even if you try and go to a specific page such as someone else's profile or a livery
Been using the same browser [explorer 11] for months not sure why i can't get on today. Restarted my laptop 3 times so far, and reset PlayStation password.
Honestly so frustrating been trying for at least 3 hours , there any other way to look for decals once your editing a livery?

The livery editor is where I end up spending most of my time now a days.. 372 liveries and counting. More time there than in photomode!!!

#hashtags are extremely important to help the search process and while they can be a pain to enter (no text memory) they are essential for searches... Personally I will only search on my computer, the ps4 is too slow and cumbersome at times.

With regards to the popularity of liveries... I had to laugh when I saw a car painted black with over 75 likes:confused:... so I figured I would do the same to see what happens... took me literally 2 seconds and it was done... I think I got 20+ likes that night... While the other liveries I created that took a huge effort to create were met with lukewarm responses. Does everyone really like black that much???

Good thing I don't give a rat's a$$ about how many likes I get or I would have just given up. It's great that people like the work, and it's a little endorphin boost seeing the little red bell... but I do it for myself...it's my creative outlet (that and photomode of course!!!) ... I'm no where near the best as there are some seriously talented artistic types out there, but I ain't the worst either ;)

I search the liveries to see specific one's or generally to see what others are doing... I like the replica stuff a lot and the tributes, and now with the 360 preview option you can see any flaws before downloading...

FYI, I believe the trending list is refreshed every 12 minutes or so...

Well there’s your problem. Stop using that browser and start using Chrome or Firefox or something. Internet Explorer is bad. Always have been. :mischievous:

With the 1000 livery like achievment, people will like anything. I wiil reshare liveries which had mistakes and they also got shared
