Hi to all, my family was thinking about buying an used (around 40.000 kms) Range Rover Velar. However we spoke to our mechanic and he said a sincere no, because of reliability problems. Does anyone here have experience with this car? Is it really unreliable (not just big problems, but also malfunctioning contacts, UI bugs, etc).

Thank you!

I don't have experience with any Land Rovers really besides basic lubrication maintenance. But generally, I'd listen to your mechanic because they know what they're talking about. That being said, there are many mechanics/techs that are very biased and put down vehicles they might have had a bad experience working with in the past. 40,000 kilometers sounds relatively low for any car really. Did you ask your mechanic why he thinks this? Has the car's maintenance been neglected? Was it possibly a flooded car? Those definitely can factor in a low mileage car being unreliable.
