I think they are using those events to show us some "unexpected" premium cars. Who would imagine I-Miev was premium instead of the LM cars? See, I am talking about the regular players, not about forum users that research about everything in the game like us.

I would prefer they used the term "bonus missions" rather than "races" if there are going to more of similar style. What I would like is some real grid start races with tyre/power/weight limit restrictions but with more freedom of choice for car.

I wouldn't, this system is far more fun than a hilarious pile-up at the first corner because 16 cars of the same power pile into the first corner at precisely the same moment.

Races in this fashion have give you something to work for beyond the first 10 seconds of the race.

I think the "catching up" aspect of the Seasonal Event is fun, but I think PD should put in an event where we are trying to "run away" or "fence off" chasing opponents. As most people would agree, catching up is pretty easy, as you are putting pressure on the others(well, the presssure part is almost non-existence in the AI world), but if PD could develop better AI where we have to fence them off, or that they do the chasing instead, that would be a blast IMO..

👍

Awesome idea. Kind of like the Nurburgring Special Event in GT4, except now you are the SL300, not the SLR McLaren...

How about racing a bone stock Sambabus around the Top Gear track?!

Or maybe the 458 on SS5. Or Miura on Rome against XJ13 and Mark IV.

If B spec is part of #5, I will need to call my Bob's to get into over powered cars again.

As for A spec races, how about Lamborghinis @ Monza, or Supras on Fuji?

I have a lot of desires like most of you but my real expectations are that we will get more of the same until they are ready to release the next patch. Even after that things might not change but my guess is that this weekly format and those types of races are what we can expect until a patch where they might lay the infrastructure to do other types of challenges.

I really wish there were more varieties of the short endurance races. I really like the zen like aspect of a 2 hour-ish endurance. I really liked both Grand Valley and Laguna Seca and would love to see more options like that.

I think they should split the challenges into regulated and unregulated. The first 2-3 could be regulation free and the last 2-3 would have regulations like before. The ones with regulation would provide more money and experience, making the difficulty worhtwhile, while the others would provide something fun for entry-level GT players and those looking for more relaxed races. A compromise between hardcore and casual.

And they should use track generator tracks, just to spice it up. It would have to be the same track for everyone, but it would be something new each week, so that everyone has the same amount of time to try and learn it.

A 5-lap Le Mans race on Le Sarthe, while driving an eligible Le Mans car of your choice. No catch-up, but the AI has gotten faster so now it is harder.

That would be what I want to see. :)

I have always thought the perfect compromise is now that they are cycling every 2 weeks to have week 1 of a new challenge be restricted. Then when the next weeks challenge comes in the old challenge goes to unrestricted for maybe 75% of the credit/exp payout. I actually could care less about how anyone else does or doesn't achieve the win but I could see that kind of model satisfying the hardcore user who has one week to get things done in a set challenging way then 1 week for anyone who couldn't get it done on restricted mode.

If I could choose the next set of seasonal events, I'd do something like this...

1. Keicar shootout / Trial Mountain
2. Evo/STi shootout / Grand Valley Speedway
3. Honda NSX vs modern supercars / Eiger
4. McLaren F1 vs McLaren MP4-12C / London
5. A DTM version of the current Super GT event / Nurburgring

Maybe boring to some, but it would allow people to use what car they want instead of being stuck with only one choice. I don't see why PD can't do any of those. :P

I'd like to see at least 1 championship series instead of 5 single races, so maybe 4 singles and 1 championship. (possibly a hypercar shootout, enzo/mclaren f1/lambo sv etc etc)

I would like them to be tuning restricted again, because that is what gives the fun to the seasonal events :sly:

Does anyone else think that all seasonal events for the foreseeable future were loaded into the game at the 1.05 update and will just update themselves accordingly as the dates expire? It was a very big update, and who knows, at some stage a seasonal event with a new track could appear.

I know the seasonal events are hosted online not local or at least triggered only by online because you cannot access them offline. I would expect the code for them is pretty light actually since it is just car placement etc not much more info than a replay would contain so I would think they are online not local.

The code to translate them was probably in the last update. I don't think update size dictates much because it is so reliant on what core components they are touching. You touch core functionality you might need to deliver a larger payload even if it is a small change because the program your updating is larger.

Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 slipstream battle or catching a 300SL '54 with an SLR McLaren and a 90 sec. handicap on the 'Ring

Seriously though, I'd like one with LMP cars on Sarthe with rain at night, or Ferrari F1 cars on Monza.

They should continue some series from special events, for example: go-kart.

I'd like to see 50 laps on SSR5... remember it from GT2.

something other than "start from dead last catch the 1st guy". how about the other way around? say try to maintain the lead on worn tires, when some guy 10 second behind is on fresh rubber.
