Hi
The latest Seasonal Event on the Deep Forest Raceway drives me crazy. The Rules are hopefully known.

German non Racecar
Sport Hard
560Lp

I started a try with a SLS AMG but couldnt get close to a 1.20.000. My Hotlap was a 1.21.166. -.-'
Then i noticed that everybody drive the Audi R8 4.2 Fsi. Unfortunately that car is a 4WD. I dont like the layout and have no clear ideas how to tune. So i tryied a Hotlap with a Audi R8 4.2 STOCK. My Hotlap 1.20.257 -.-'

Now i want to know how to tune a 4WD but not only for Deep Forest Raceway. I want to understand the Problems of a 4WD and want to know what to tune and why.

The Audi R8 4.2 Fsi R tronic '07 is STOCK about ca. 480PP. The Rules allow up to 560PP.
What is the smartest way to tune? Engine & Weight or single Parts like exhaust/turbo?

I read much in the forum, but my English inst the best, so i havent wrote any Threads. I know blame on me :(

I allready have gold. The event is not the Problem. My hotlap is 1.20.257 temp. rank 2723 with a Audi R8 4.2 FSI tuned by myself.
But my tuning-knowlegde isn't that good and i know it. So i created that thread before i start tuning at 0.

I thought i could keep up with a SLS or an M3, but the hard tyres makes it harder to stay calm and on your line. Only a 1.21.6xx -.-'

Why is only 1 Car that can reach a Hotlap for TimeTrail Events? Sometimes you can find only 4 different Cars, in the Top250.

MFT's R8 is tuned for sports softs, so putting hards on it will make it stiffer as you say. There is a fix though, just use a stronger front LSD.

Initial Torque: 15/10
Acceleration Sensitivity: 60/30
Braking Sensitivity: 20/10

It'll still feel stiff, but it'll be more willing to turn now.

I thought a strong front LSD causes less reaction and understeering while cornering and accelerating out. Is this an option for tracks with altitude difference like Deep Forest or either 'Ring?

The stronger the LSD, the easier your car will rotate.

My CSL did it fine at 550PP

I think almost every german car could beat the Gold Time of 1.27.500 when its tuned to 560pp. But maybe im partisan ;-)

But my aim is 1.20.000 and below. And Yes i know at first driving skills then car and tuning.

What do you think obout the tuning of one of the Top10 Cars? Is the car fully tuned and then restricted? Or decide between fully weight reduction and motor tuning?

My thought was: "Oh Deep Forest is more a winding road with altitude difference so i did the full weight reduction and eyes on turning reaction an accelerating out on the straights." - My Racing line seems to be ok, but still the ghosts run away :D

Deep Forest I would think is more of a power track. There are some quick turns, sure, but the back half is pretty straight and fast.

Just my opinion, no real facts or testing to back it up. :dopey:

My best time so far is 1:19.869 and I can't seem to improve upon it. I am using a tune by Praiano63 I found online. Now, 10 April 9pm Australian eastern time the record is 1m 16.2s and my position is 1920.
I will try the LSD changes by VTiRoj and see how it goes. At this time my LSD is 10/10, 30/30, 8/12.

Haven't done any better and do not feel the LSD change was beneficial. may be my driving style/experience, but I'll look for another tune.
