I've always contended that the Pacific Northwest has the most beautiful summers of anywhere in the country (no, it doesn't rain all year). The first day of summer (yesterday) featured on-and-off sun, but today, the sun came out for good, and so did my camera
(which is sadly starting to crap out on me). The following shots were taken at Gasworks Park on Lake Union (about 2.5 miles north of downtown). I have some other ideas for picturesque locales around town, which I will post in this thread if I get around to it. Click on the pictures to get the full-size versions.
First up, my hasty attempts at panoramic photos. Disclaimer: I don't have a tripod, and boats moving on water really screws the continuity
.
The first panorama sweeps the shores of Lake Union in the early afternoon:

The second: Downtown at sunset.

I have this set as my desktop. I had to Photoshop three people out of it, because I hate people getting in my scenery shots
.

As I was walking around, I just happened to notice the city pop up between these two hills. The grass was still damp, so I didn't want to lay flat to capture the full effect, but it was really dramatic.

I came back to the park around sunset. Here's the obligitory shot of the skyline with the sun reflecting off of the buildings:

Here is the tallest hill in the park (probably around 50 feet high). I said I don't like people in my shots, but since their sillhouttes looked so cool against the sky, I let it slide
.

This shot was an absolute gift. I turned around at just the right moment
.

Twilight makes things look creepy
:

Not so creepy during the day (well, not as creepy, anyway):

So, those are the best shots from today. I love summer
