Now that Ahnold is Governor, how do you think he will do?

Oh my god, Ahnold is Governor! What the hell did we do!?

Just wait and see. If he puts into the govenorship the same effort he puts into everything else in his life then you will see a better govenor than you have had there in a long time.

man, i wish i had such cool politicians here....

i would like the Terminator to deal with local issues in Scotland..

the Hulk for First Minister....yeah...then he would actually stand up to Tony Blehhh..

I think it's cool you guys elected someone who speaks english with a distinct indian accent (Anyone for an evening of Bollywood ?) :D

Good Luck 👍

I've often thought that California should be divided into 2 separate states.
Northern and Southern California.

It has nearly 36 Million [documented] people living there (roughly 15% of the US population). It boasts the 5th biggest economy in the world. I'm compiling the info to see what else I can use to support my thoughts.

As for Arnold being governor, I think that with the cast of characters supporting him, he'll do a good job to turn things around. I'm also guessing that this is only his first stop on the political campaign. He'll assemble a supporting cast that wields star power, and brains, and they'll carry him as close to the top as they can. It's almost as if the people supporting him are using his personality and star power to driv etheir own ambitions forward.

Everybody knows, that you need a charasmatic person to win an election. Arnold gets the fame, and his team gets the keys to any office he holds.

We'll see how it plays out.

I'm surprised how many people think that because he made some B movies he must be a B person. And so many people seem to be forgetting Reagan.

Arnold is a self made man. He's a legal immigrant who came to this country to make a life for himself, and was very successful. If anyone understands the American Dream, it's him. Whether or not he can translate that into politics remains to be seen. But I believe he'll do well.

And I am thoroughly entertained by all the liberal democrats prophesising gloom and doom. Ooooo . . . scary!

The Governator. I didn't coin it but I love the ring. I also love the way he says "Kaleefohrniuh". I also think that Arnold is half the fascist that those liberal ranters are.

Agreed that I think he'll pour himself into it and do a good job. He's already had three highly successful careers: bodybuilder, actor, and real estate/business developer. No reason to think he can't add a fourth to the mix.

After all, he did make an effort to complete college after he had already achieved the Mr. Universe title. Admittedly, it was the University of Wisconsin, but he made the effort and got the degree.

What are you talking about?

I think the most amazing part about all of this is that somehow Coleman brought in 12,614 votes... and Flynt raked in 15,305. I don't know how they pulled that off.

I also think arnie will do a good job. Like everyone else has been saying, Arnold doesn't know how to do things badly. I'm sure that he'll put a ton of energy into his new job and will end up pumping up California.

I could have registered my cat for the ballot and brought in 15,000 votes. Probably more. This is California we're discussing.

Your cat would have beaten some guy who's last name is Lewis. He only managed 172 votes... must have gotten the extended family in on that one.

Nah. They wouldn't vote for someone out of state. You're absolutely insane.

I pity your cat.

You should have seen the ballot. Candidates on both the front and back with the propositions on the back, right corner. It's ridiculous to have that many when there were only 4 major candidates.

"More pain inside my brain than the eyes of a little girl, inside the plane, aimed at the World Trade." - Eminem
I just had to address this sig. What a terrible thing to say. To persume to have any idea what that girl's pain was (unspeakable, to be sure), and then to compare one's own little celebrity suffering to it is disgusting.

Eminem isn't comparing his suffering to the "girl's" suffering. He is just emphasizing it. Eminem is an (controversial) artist, it would be a bland song if he just said his suffering was great straight out. It gives the song meaning and (at the time of the song) people could relate to.

Yes he is. Read the line. It's called a simile: "a figure of speech comparing two unlike things that is often introduced by like or as (as in cheeks like roses) -- compare"

Arnie has been an active Republican for many years now. I do not know his level of involvement, but I'm sure he's more hip to politics than many people realize.

All the same, I'm glad I live in Maine. ;)

No - he's desperate for attention. Eminem's main goal is to shock people just because he can; he's said that if people told him he couldn't fill an album with curse words, he'd do it just to prove them wrong. How stupid. Thing is, if Eminem didn't have all this negative publicity, nobody would buy his boring "I hate my dad; I come from the projects" records. Simple as that

Happily, on the subject of Arnold, I'd like to say that the man's got no plan for the economy of California except naive unrealistic goals, and good effing luck. There's no way in hell he'll achieve them. I can't wait to see him fail. One of the main sticking points of the Gray Davis debacle (incidentally, his real first name is Joseph) was car tax - I registered my Subaru there a few months ago, and, with the extra fee for the Yosemite and personalized plate, I paid over $550 - that's for a $31k Subaru! I can't imagine what Jennifer Lopez pays on her Bentley! Even more, I can't wait what Arnold does to lower it. Once again, good effing luck.

By the way, there WILL be a recall effort against Arnold, as there's been against every single California governor for the last 82 years.

I am wondering what Arnold is going to do about his promises. What is he going to do? I have no clue, as do the rest of us Californians. He never said how he is going to do the things he promised. Repeal the car tax? How? the Governor can't do that according to law, but he said he would do it, regardless of the laws.

How will the in place Democrats, and there is a lot of them, work along with our new Governor? These two political parties have been at each other throats, and have a very bad record of getting along. Do you think Arnold can really properly deal wiht this? Sure, he is popular, sure he is charismatic, but will that stop the immature Democrats? They already started blaming Arnold for problems wih how things are going between the two parties, and he hasn't even taken office yet!

If you're not a Californian, you can consider yourself lucky. I wonder, how's the weather in South Dakota?

the whole race was a joke in this part of texas, we had comercials mocking it, radio stations doing prank calls with voice bits of the govanator from his movies, but come on, hes gonna at least try to change the state which cali is in. i just wish we had some sort of publicity stunt here insead of some loser representatives running away from special sessions just to spite the govenor and hindering the whole legislative process.

Edit: damn two party system, like it works anyways...
