Here's another article: CBS

I think the facebook thing tells us what kind of a man he is. According to the story, they got in a series of heated confrontation in their home, wife threatened to leave him during the fight. At this point, sounds like Medina had already pointed the gun at her at least once.

I feel bad for the daughter who did survive. We all get emotional when it comes to relationship problems, but resorting to violence is really pathetic. When you bring a gun into it, you are truly a sad loser. Then posting a photo of the murder on the web, that, I'm not even sure what to say about it.

I hope he gets put away for a long time.

Looks like he communicated her right in the spleen.

Didn't it say she pulled a knife on him before he shot her? I mean there's almost the self defense factor but then the Facebook post says something else....I mean I don't know what to believe.

I think the story I linked(CBS) suggests that gun was pulled on her first, some back & forth, then he shot her. I saw nothing from that story that suggests this was a self-defense.

I didn't read the CBS article (though I probably should have), I just went to the one in the OP. That's where I was getting that from. That's kind of a dumb move though, you've got a gun drawn on you and the first thing you do is pull a knife?

Can't claim self defense in this case, Slash.

He drew the gun in the bedroom, & pointed at her. She left, & he followed her to the kitchen to confront her. She threw punches, so he went back for the gun. He returned, she drew the knife, he disarmed her, & she started throwing punches again. That's when he shot her.

He went back for the gun after she threw punches. Her drawing the knife could be seen as self-defense against him, & even then, he was able to disarm her. Hard to claim you had no choice but to kill somebody if you not only left & came back, but were able to wrestle a knife away from the person.

Really? If I were her I would've booked it the hell out of there and called the police. If someone draws a gun on you, they've already gone past the point of no return. All "He wouldn't shoot me" reasoning flies out the window. Poor lady. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my earlier quip. I meant it at his expense, not hers.

Unless he's the type of idiot that's always fooling around with his gun, waving it around like a jacka$$ and she's so used to it she never believed he would actually use it.

I would say Johnny is correct in his assumption, they were married after all, in these heated moments I would guess neither side believes the other would actually do lasting harm. That is the tragedy of domestic violence, stick around, sling mud, get at each others goat and then maybe some make up sex.

It's ironic he wrote a book about communication but could not see his own advice right under his nose, so yeah, the joke was funny

I'll tell you guys, I just fell victim to this sort of nonsense as a mater of fact. Just last night a close friend of mine was stabbed to death by his wife of maybe a year. The biggest shame is it's very preventable, it's not like the friends/family/maybe police, are not aware that a trouble is brewing. To each their own I suppose.

If he had time to leave the scene to go and get a gun it should even be considered to be a premeditated murder.

Ah I see, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clearing that up 👍
