So apparently there's this big auto show going on in Las Vegas...

I think this would be a really cool car to have. I'm really liking the increased fuel mileage despite power bumps in all modes. Although, as always, I do have to question whether or not the DSG gearbox and 2.0T can put up with the extra power.

Looks good inside and out too, IMO. Although maybe I'm a member of a small crowd liking the look of that Audi RS front end and that rear. Looks good inside too. Hopefully it would drive like the performance car it is trying to be, and less like the grown-up, softened GTI that the Passat is. Oh, and nice wheels.

If I were to believe anything forza has said in the past on the subject (and in this case I don't see why not), the 2.0T has near 4G63 levels of flexibility. I'm not sure about the DSG box, though.

It could very easily just me me doubting the capabilities of that drivetrain after all the gremlins my GTI has had. Although I have heard that VW has found a fix for some of the problems so we'll see. Apparently VW is confident, with the power output the GTI-R is supposed to have, and some of those new Audis coming out.

I wouldn't doubt the ability for VW to make a reliable DSG box for these kinds of power numbers. After all, the Veyron is putting 1000 horsepower through one.

As for flexibility, I've heard all kinds of tales about 500 hp 2.0Ts and that it is a great tuner engine.

Is it just me, or does the existence of the Passat CC completely negate the need for the Audi A4 2.0T FWD? Especially when it looks this good (stock is still beautiful!)...

Thought: Who wants to bet that most of this "kit" is available through Volkswagen dealers in little more than a year?

I'd like to see those wheels available. I think they're pretty cool. But given the existence of the Thunder Bunny kit on the GTI (which I may go out and drive this weekend), I wouldn't be surprised. Oh, and Crowne also has a couple Passat CCs that I might try and take out for a spin.

I actually prefer the wheels of the standard Passat CC to the ones on that tuned car, cool turbine-blade style ones.

Actually, I prefer the standard model full stop. The tuned one looks alright but the agressive look doesn't suit the car in the same way the agressive Brabus bits suit the Merc CLS, for example.

If I remember correctly, SCC dyno'd the GTi-R at around 380 whp. Drool-worthy levels of power on a streetable car (and it posts excellent lap-times, as well). And it posted a sub-5 second 0-60 time, too... (but that was on R-compounds... still... it's a good number).

Doesn't VW's sport compact portfolio completely negate the need for small Audis (except maybe the TT) completely?

Oh.. on topic... that Passat CC is pure sexy. I'd thought it was a pointless car... but it looks so good... hmmm... maybe it's the regular Passat that's pointless?

Oh... and eco-mode is something every turbo-charged car should come with... it's not that hard to implement multiple fuel/ignition/boost maps on modern cars... and would increase the consumer appeal even more. Kudos to VW for finding a way to be both performance oriented AND green at the same time.

I was referencing the MKVI GTI-R that people are talking about that's going to be the 'R32' of the 6th generation. That should have around 275 hp. And that's something that the car will have to reliably put down.

It is a little curios that more cars don't offer it. It would be cool to see VW offering that on future models. We were thinking about getting a system like that for the XC70.
