So im getting really annoyed with my pc now. For some unknown reason i cannot send an email from this pc. i get the following error message

untitled1mx1.jpg

I have blocked out most of my email address for obvious reasons.

Now the problem seems to stem back to the people who provide our email addresses however i can put my pop3/smtp settings onto another machine using the same router for its internet and it works fine so it is definately isolated to my pc.

I moved the email account to another email program and i got the same problems. I even rolled back my pc to a restore point before the problem occured to see if that cured it and then re-installed outlook and any other office programs incase they were the cause. I scanned my pc with Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, AVG and Avira and my computer came back clean so it doesnt appear to be a virus/spyware issue. I even tried sending emails with all firewalls turned off and still no avail.

I have no clue to what the issue is anymore and i would appreciate it if anybody could help me before i start tearing my hair out.

Spec....

PS, if i need me to delve into any more details or i havnt explained anything properly please ask and i will be more than happy to provide further info.

So using the same email address as the one you've "hidden" from us to say it like that to another program like hotmail or something similar doesn't work either?

Which computer are you using? Work or your own computer?

What program are you using in which you have the error?

I used to have the same errors back when I had a @pandora email address with Microsoft Outlook but ever since I switched to @hotmail... problems stopped for me 👍

Its a work email account, the address is the company name which is not advertised for various reasons. Im using my work pc and the programs i have used are MS Outlook and then i tried the Microsoft Mail program that came on the vista PC.

And that email works on other pc's? Hmmm...goes beyond my computer knowledge I'm afraid :dunce:

Many ISPs have begun the practice of blocking SMTP traffic from dynamic IPs that goes to servers they don't own, as an anti-spam gesture. (I can't use my office mail from anywhere outside of the office's ISP's network except via Outlook WebAccess or running Outlook remotely via Citrix or RDP.) That would be my first guess, except that you say it works from another PC behind the same router. In that case, I'm wondering if this PC has a firewall program on it. It's possible, but unlikely, that the firewall in your router is blocking SMTP from this particular PC, although how it would have arrived at such a decision is mysterious.

Thanks for the suggestion wfooshee, I will take a look at the routers settings tomorrow when i go to work. Im still open to other possibilites too.

Thanks in advance

10 points to this man! Many thanks wfooshee! I didnt think to check the router firewall as my account worked from other comuters using the same router. It was indeed blooking all outgoing mail from my pc for some bizzare reason!

Once again, many thanks
