Sending Message online & race meets

Ok lads, Just thought id start by saying GT5P sux!jokes! thought that would stir someone up.
It is sick as... got a G25 with a playseat and I cant get out of it.
Ive recently started playing online (virgin), and ive had some really good races with people that wanna drive cleanly and not just punt you off if your on the outside of them on a corner or brake in front of you to get more speed.
Is there anywhere I can go to get into races with people that wanna drive properly...and also some races with more than 3 laps..

Suzuka 750pp has been my home track of late & someone i was racing sent me a message and the end of the race saying that was good racing, but i dont know how to reply or what i need to reply...help...

ps hope the full game has tyre wear & pit stops in there..

To message in-game, push the PS button on your controller. This brings up the XMB screen. Go full-right, and you will see 'Message Box' just above your name (PSN ID). Any USB keyboard plugged into your PS3 will help you with the typing, but is not necessary.

As for better racing, get into the Expert level online events. These all take place on Professional physics, and therefore draw all the serious folks. These Expert races are at least 5 laps, and there's no RBE (rubber-band effect).
 
Also, HSR expert 650PP is a 10 lapper :D and just check the Race Events sub forum to find interesting races and TTs.... Follow the time schedules and make sure youre looking at the right format.. PAL or NTSC... :)

Welcome to the GT world. I can't leave my seat either, and Ive been playing since GTP release.
The best way to find clean races is to get into Expert events. These offer pro physics, NO CATCH UP EFFECT (called rubber banding), and pro caliber racers. The learning curve is steeper in pro events but its the best way to improve your racing and ensure you get the best possible experience.
Search this forum for the racing event schedules and get your butt into pro races.:)

First, it depends on what game you have? Most racing now takes part on PAL on professional events. By the sounds of it you are racing standard physics on inter 750?

Current events and championships can be found here.

In there you can find general racing and what times to start. There is also a Racing Chat if you just wana meet up for a quick race.

Okay thanks for the feedback people...Ive been racing in the game with only PRO physics & simulation mode as im not really into arcade games...so ill venture on over to the Pro Events...I guess the only reason ive been using the intermediate events is to use a car with some more go or atleast something that ressembles a race car...Id really like to be racing the F1 car online is there races for that?

Also im not exactly up to speed on all the PS3 features as yet or most of the terminologies , What is the difference with PAL and NTSC???

If you can't get out of your playseat, then why don't you look it up yourself? It's been some time since I played, but I think there was an F1 event the last time I checked...

PAL = Europe, Australia, etc.
NTSC = America, Japan, etc.

The notion that most racing happens on PAL is what is killing NTSC. Quit saying that!! I race with guys every night. This idea that you should buy 2 versions of same game is stupid, and I suggest that no one do it. NTSC is just fine. Keep buying prologue and full game will never be released!

No online F1 races at the moment. There were in the past, though.

PAL is the European version (region), NTSC is the North American.

YES, Stavingo, PD will never release GT5 if they are still selling GT5 Prologue... unless you can buy a version of GT5 minus the prologue content for cheaper, or something like that. Stop Buying GT5P! Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist?

:odd: This makes no scence to me. PD will release GT5 when its ready, not when GT5P sales drop off. The more they sell GT5P, the bigger the demand for the full game. ;)

What you say here is nonsense... and if people want to buy PAL so they can race the European crowd then why shouldnt they? WHO ARE YOU to tell them not to? And selling more Prologue is NOT going to hold up the release of the full game... I dont know where you went to school but you need to check your economics book again and refresh your memory on business cycles...

yeah all time i sert message to my ps3 friends when we are going for a race online, but???????? it will be so much easier if they had private online rooms in gt5 because sometimes it does not connect so it make life difficult to find your friends

I own 2 versions of the game, and have owned both since last April.

I'm friends with several GTPers from "across the pond", so my main motivation for the PAL copy was to be able to race with my friends, since all online content was initially region locked.

As an added benefit, it also allows me to view/review replays for both versions in the WRS.

And my personal opinion, since I have run on both, is that there is more consistent, high quality talent present in PAL races. That's not to say that the PAL drivers are all faster, or NTSC are all slower. Just that I can more consistently find faster, higher quality drivers on PAL.

So, it should really be up to each person whether or not they purchase another region's disk. But, as you've said, you are entitled to your opinion.

PAL or NTSC. I go to where the good racing is. Thats why I own both.
