I tried to search, but came up empty.
Does anyone have any "good" settings for the Altezza Touring Car or
Lexus IS200?
I have tried many different combos, but its hard to make this car a contender..
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have only driven the car a couple of times. The only changes I have made are increasing camber to 2.4/1.3, LSD 22/40/15, tranny trick to even out gears. The gearing with this 5 speed is aweful, so the tranny trick to even them out is a must, then set final to suit the track. The suspension is a little stiff, so I used the following bound and rebound bd:6/7 rbd:7/8.
It is a good driving car, but has a bad tendancy to eat front tires, however I did manage to do 27 laps at the Beginner Course in the Dreamcar Championship with the last lap medium orange on tire wear.

On a side note. This car is stock with 300 horses and only tunable to around 500 to 600, I think. Didn't it tune to something above 1000 hp in GT3?

actually, i already created them.
here they are:
http://www.jaymarino.com/gt4/AltezzaTouringCar.doc

probabaly the best settings/detailed write-up on a vehicle ever.
thanks.
i got frustrated with the lack of support for the Altezza and Altezza touring car.
so i did everthing on my own.
this is the first post of settings for the altezza touring car on this website ever.
if you have any changes, that you like, let me know.
i don't have anything to compare against.

what tranny trick are you refering to?
and you are right, in GT3, you could max this beast out at 1001HP. but in GT4, only 560hp.
to be honest, 560 is more accurate. no altezza will ever reach 1001hp.
IS300s don't even reach those numbers without nitrous and they have the same engine as the supra.

p.s. i have made some adjustments to the settings that i posted, but i haven't updated them yet.
i just got back from my honeymoon.

i will give this a bump because i want settings for the IS200(J) also
Just to let you know, on the IS200(J), the best way to tune it is to go out with N/A mods only. don't turbo it. when you do, you gain a little hp, but you lose the lower end torque and i found that an NA IS200 is actually faster than a turbo IS200, but has less power.
just f.y.i.

The tranny trick is to move final all the way right. Move the auto all the way left. Leave auto at 1 and adjust final as needed. It will give you evenly spaced gears. Congrats on the HM.

Wow Turbo, that is some really nice work. Do you have more of those? I tried jaymarino.com and can't seem to get access. What's the url?
thanks.
my website is
www.jaymarino.com
but, thats the only write-up that i have.
when i get time, i might make one on the IS200(J). but that probably won't be for a while.
Thanks.

Nice site!!! Nice page!!! If you'd like settings for more cars, let me know... it'd be cool if we could do all of our set ups "a la" GTVAULT, though that page you made is WAY cooler...

P.S. I never ran that Altezza race... never knew it was worth it... Sounds like I've got a race to win

the altezza race is definitly worth it.
they're not very long races either. just hook up a Lexus IS200(J) with all NA mods, and its a cakewalk.
Once you win, try the Altezza Touring car with my settings and let me know what you think.

WOW!!! What a car to drive, I love this thing. It has all of the good aspects of a Skyline, with none of the bad points... a must have. This car is so balanced, it makes settign this thing up a piece of cake.

I've come up with these settings that got me a 6'32.XXX at Nur, that I'd like to share.

Springs 15.4 15.8
Ride Height 60 65
Shock B 3 3
Shock R 5 5
Camber 2.5 1.5
Toe 0 0
Stabalizer 6 6

Breaks 7 6

Final 4.760, auto set to 13

ASMs 0/0

TCS 3

Tires Racing Hard

Give this one a try, it's a winner. If you haven't already gotten this car, do so as soon as possible. This is my new favorite touring car.

Great to hear that you love it so much.
I do to.
I think my best time is like 6.17.something.
i was on pace for a really low 6.00 once, but screwed up at the end.

Well thanks for letting me know about it... it rocks, I'm telling everyone, but they either don't get back to me, or say that it's sucks... most likely because they haven't heard of it or know where to get it... their loss... it's a sweet ride

yeah, well, if you drive it with stock settings its good, but way too much turbo lag.
So, i could see how some people wouldn't understand.
if you use my settings, it gets rid of most of the turbo lag and makes the car a beast.
Thanks for sharing.

yeha, gj witht the tuning both of you and keep up the good work, i didnt noe how good this car was until after yalls settings,

good stuff

hello jay,
i used your setup for the altezza. a great car indeed.
i b-specced the el capitain endurance race (my cash cow for keeping my credits around 40M while working on getting all cars) and a set of tires lasted for 25 laps in pace 3 and 29 laps in pace 2: the best tire wear performance ever!!!
thanks for your word-work on the setup.
i must say that although the altezza is a great car, i still prefer the audi and bmw touring cars over the japanese ones.
greetz from holland.

A tip: lower your spring rates to 10.0 front and 9.5 rear and lower the rear rideheight to 62. Also turn the rebound up to 7 F/R and toe the wheels 1/-2 F/R. Loose the tcs all together if you´re running it without any powerups. If tuned, tcs 2. also drop the brakes a tad to 6/5 F/R for a bit better stoppingpower.
Try running the altezza untuned for a more fun ride. You still slaughter the altezza races, and if you want a challange, do the Nürb endurance with it!

Are you talkin' Altezza Touring Car or just the regular Lexus IS200?

yea i am tring to make my altezza run the 24h nur, and would like to try turbo's set up, but it wont load in my microsoftword without error, so if someone could post them i would apperciate it alot.

I´ve looked at that setting, and the suspension settings are way too hard, so I would not recommend them for the 24hrs of Nürburgring. Adjust them properly, and you should be fine. These are Turbos settings.
