shanghai circuit and wheel

hi guys , just wondering if anyone can help me out here , i have a driving force wheel , and the other day i fired up shift 2 , downloaded the patch v1.02 , and then proceeded to play career mode , on the shanghai circuit , i found it almost impossible to drive round that circuit using the wheel at a decent pace , the small circuit coupled with the very tight corners , made accurate driving with the wheel seem impossible , i tried a couple of settings out , ie -- steering sensitivity, wheel rotation settings from high to low , in car wheel rotation settings , but nothing helped me get round there any faster , when i swopped to the controller , it was way easier !!:

bigger tracks dont seem to be much of a problem , and i think the imput lag is still there , i play gt5 a lot , and was wanting to get into shift 2 , but after that shanghai circuit i'm not so sure .

could someone with a driving force wheel maybe try out the shanghai track , in the career mode against oposition and see what they think ? i know i'm not the best racer by any stretch of the imagination , but i didn't think i was that bad

Try a low overall steering lock with a high speed sensitivity. Also increase steering lock for the car in question.

You definitely need to tune the car you use to increase the steering lock. For the 540 steering lock (options menu) I used between 24-27 steering lock (tuning menu)

I'm on a G27 but it should be more or less the same in a DFGT

Are you using a DFP (Driving Force Pro)? If so its a small wheel and I have the steering lock (options mennu) set at like 300 or 270, IIRC... If you can wait a bit I can give you my settings when I get home later today... I have some wheel settings for the DFP that work well IMO 👍

i use 720 with dfgt and i don't have any problem with shangai.. i mean i don't know if it is a decent pace but i had a "time" battle with romknight in the first race of the game in shangai and seem to be good times.

i used the setting of g27 thread with 720 instead of 900.

did as you said with wheel , but i left the sensitivity at 100 , and turned up the in car wheel lock to 35 , much much better now , plus i found out i had the game set on th hard level , i dropped this to medium , and now i am thoroughly enjoying it , i now put it on par with gt5 , like someone else said in another post , its like gt5 on 'roids
