The 427 Super Coupe was built by Shelby with the intent of blowing Ferrari into the weeds in the 1965 Le Mans. The regular Daytona Cobra's, which were fitted with 289ci engines were quick, but the Super Coupe, codenamed the "Type 65", with its meatier 427ci engine and wider, sleeker design was strongly believed to be capable of speeds in excess of 215 mph on the Mulsanne straight.
Unfortunately Shelby wasn't able to build the homologation versions required in time, and so ultimately, only one 427 Super Coupe was built. It may not be as pretty as the Daytona 289, but the 427 Super Coupe would be an absolute beast on the tracks of GranTurismo...and based on the 4.5million cr. price tag of the 289 Daytona already on GT, this monster would probably cost upward of 10million...
