I recently bought this reciever, because the RCA shelf system with a blown channel I've been using for the past 6 years was starting to get annoying, and I'm damn impressed. Using the RCA shelf system's speakers it sounds very good, and I intend on building a new set of speakers soon, so that I can take advantage of the surround and whatnot. I have to say for $130 that the 100x5 reciever was definetly worth it, and it came with a factory 2 year parts and labor warranty for free.

So has anyone else ever owned/heard one of these?

Not personally, but they do have a good reputation as a supplier of budget equipment that is better than it probably should be given its price.
