Shift 2 LE/pre-order cars?

I've been wanting t pre-order thsi for a while now but i'm unsure because of the pre-order bonus content. If you pre-order it through Gamestop/Eb Games yo get 3 bonus cars. I believe they are the Silvia S15, Murcielago LP640, and an Alfa Romeo. The ad on EBgames says ; "Pre-order SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED today to get your hands on the Limited Edition featuring exclusive bonus content with instant access to three additional cars". There is my problem. Will the 3 bonus cars be exclusive to the limited edition, or do we just get early access to them? I don't see the point in pre-ordering the limited edition if I can unlock the same cars in the regular game. If anybody could clear this up for me i'd appreciate it, thanks.

the point of the preorder are the 40+ events that you can have only with the preorder, the cars are in the game always.

OK, how much does it cost?

Same as the normal one, the first "x" amount of copies will be LE versions.

Also, it should be mentioned that it hasn't been confirmed that the cars/events will be available to non LE versions, it's just pure skepticism as of right now.

EA want we buy it blind at D1 with no demo and no feedback response by comunity yet. They are giving a little extra to persuade you. There is nothing wrong if you buy it D1, you will have those extra events and cars. But I'll wait, I need to know much more about PS3 frame rate.

Not to bothred about the extra events so I'm going to rent nfs hot pusuit and then when I play shift 2 I get some xp, some money and two cars.

Regarding the extras, after watching the video with NFSDrew and Andy Tutor somehow I got the impression that there 37 events in the game and 3 extra events (along the 3 extra cars).

But they said that only the limited version has these bonuses... Maybe my ears deceive me because english is not my native language and that british accent doens''t help me :)

Besides it was 3am...

Is this LE edition only available in North America because it seems as if here in the UK they are advertising the normal one only.... No sign that it has anything about LE on the cover and I pre-ordered weeks and weeks ago.

Nope, it is available in the UK. Link to Game

I'm not sure if the additional events are for the pre-order or if they're just part of the LM edition? I don't want to pre-order the game because I can get it for free from certain shops but they aren't advertising the Limited Edition yet. Besides I generally prefer to buy in store on release day anyway.

I think the pre-order just gives you instant access to some cars that are already in the game, gives you more starting cash and allows you to earn double XP for the first 24 hours.

I believe its for the limited edition, not because you pre-order (you can pre-order both versions)

Quiz:

- earn double the xp in the 1st 24h? where did you see this?

- When you say earning more starting cash you referring to bonuses they're giving for someone who played NFS previous titles and have an account on EA, right?

I pre-ordered it and the guy that worked there told me that if you pre-order you get the limited edition the day it comes out so basically there is no pre-order bonus you are just getting the limited edition one cheaper than you otherwise would.

Pre-Order Limited Edition of SHIFT 2 Unleashed, Get Cool Stuff In-Game

Yesterday, we went over rewards for people who own past Need for Speed titles. Today, we're going to talk about Online Pass and the Limited Edition of SHIFT 2 Unleashed and how they combine to ratchet up the bonuses even further in the fastest racing game on the planet.

When you start your career in SHIFT 2 Unleashed, you'll have $20,000 to spend on your first car. When you pre-order the Limited Edition, though, you'll have a head-start with three extra cars (Nissan Silvia spec.R Aero (S15), Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, Lamborghini Murciélago LP640), and when you activate Online Pass, you'll get an additional $10,000 for tuning. That's a starting package of $30,000 in-game cash as well as double XP for the first 24 hours you own the game, just for pre-ordering. That's plenty of dough for customization.

Not to mention the 37 additional events you'll have access to, which include Old vs. New matchups (where you'll see the classic version of a car face off against its current iteration), Manufacturer Battles (which pit the fastest carmakers in their fastest cars against each other), and Single Manufacturer races (where you'll take control of a car with no upgrades and face-off against the same to determine who truly is the best racer).

what , so you dont have the Murcielago LP640 if you buy the regular version of the game?!

In other words, you won't need to buy the cars with game credit, you'll get them for free since the beginning.

You still can buy them if you want to have twice or more of same car.

If I remember rightly from Shift 1 (been a while since it was in the PS3!), each 'Event' consisted of multiple races, or at least many of them did...

From my understanding, the 24hrs double bonus starts once you activate your own game.

I think he's saying he wants to maximize his time so he will wait until Friday when he doesn't have anything interrupting him.

Regardless, you can still play it, just don't redeem the code until than.

So two of the pre-order cars are fan-favorites. I highly doubt they would keep them exclusive for people who pre-ordered them. I think if you pre-order the game, it lets you unlock the car at the beginning of the game so you don't have to unlock and buy them later on like the rest of the people.

In this video, I don't see the LE cars...💡

I take 2 of almost every car, thank you. One stock one Works converted...
[sarcasm]
Why didn't they make the month real, it feels longer than usual..

Watched the video. Cars look cool.
Personally disappointed there is no Corvette street car (current gen).
And no Ferrari?! Is that right?
Does Polyphony have exclusive rights to them or something?

PD does not have exclusive rights to Ferrari. SMS refuses to say why they're not in the game, but it's not because the rights were unavailable. We'll probably never get a straight answer why, because SMS won't want to risk antagonising them and losing any shot at getting Ferraris in a game in the future.

I'm expecting Micro$uck to screw the gaming world again by waiving a few million under EA's nose to do what they did in Shift 1. Precedent has been set...

I read somewhere a LONG time ago that ferrari doesnt want theyre cars in NFS titles because they dont want people to customize them into hideous cars and take away from the 'ferrari' look, and they didnt want theyre cars associated with a game franchise that has games about illegal street racing etc. Not sure if its true but i remember hearing it.
