If your looking to have some good fun throwing an AWD car around Ken Block style... then I highly suggest you check out the Nevada Freight Depot location in the Quick mode.

You unlock this location by completing the Drift tutorial.

I spent a good 5 hours yesterday just sliding around.

From memory I think you have to do the drift tutorial to unlock it. It's tedious but easy.

Don't want to sound like a troll, but it is Nevada. If you didn't live in the US I would let it slide.

On topic, this sounds like a good idea for everyone that had to make due with larger tracks in other games (Benchmark in Forza 3). Should have slower speeds more true to doing Gymkhana.

Once selected can you switch it to time attack or do you not get the broken physics in that location?

Broken physics? No... but traction is alot easier to break. EA/SMS have already annouched that the power is enchanced for all cars when playing drift mode.

No you can't select time attack and play the Nevada Freight depot. You must be in drift mode.

I've completed the drifting tutorial, but the Nevada Freight Depot didn't show up for me on the track selection screen after selecting drift under quick....

Yes. Drift physics are just stupid.

Oh...

Well its to bad you feel that way.

Back on topic:

You guys should try this.

Evo 9 or STi with street/track tires...and engine/suspension performance maxed. Track interior, full weight reduction. DON'T Install the works setup!

720* of steering rotation in the advance tuning menu. Then for car set up, stiffen up everything to do with suspension...its really soft to begin with..and leave the ride height alone.

Go whip those beast around! The subaru makes some fantastic noises.

Is it really this or do the cars just have low traction rear tires in drift mode?

Tires which break traction easier makes more sense to me as my slow cars are still slow in drift mode and don't seem to be power enhanced.

Well they could have just used the same physics and let you drift the car the way real drivers do, without some weirdly jacked-up steering rate with about 75% traction and grip, plus the ability to accelerate with no issues from next to no revs in third gear and still veer around like Bambi on ice.

I am going to try this tomm, I'm going to buy the WRX right now and play with it with the DS3 tonight and try the DFGT wheel tomm 👍

Steering rate feels the same. Gearing feels the same, higher gears bog out at high loads and low rpms. Car reacts to my input the same as in race mode.

There has been no information released stating the handling physics in drift mode are altered in anyway. (That I'm aware of.)

They have alterd the power and traction of the car, there is no doubt...but EA/SMS have already stated that.
I would suspect that if there are handling alterations then they would have reased that information at the same time.

...This is unless you are a game developer and have some proff that drift mode effects the handling characteristics differently then in race mode.

that's what they said they did. I don't believe they did anything to the handling, just made it a little easier to kick the back end out.

does anybody know if you can do laps on this track in drift? I tried so I could post some points for autolog and the laps never go up from 1
