I've come to notice that most bugs on Shift 2 I don't have or those that happened to me rarely show up.
We know PS3 components may have change slightly during all these years. For example the slim PS3 can turn a TV on via HDMI-CEC and the FAT can't. This is because it has a new controller that enables CEC within HDMI chip (if I remember correctly).
Or the sound problems via HDMI 1.3 where Silicon Image different chips for advanced sound codecs that are (un)able to pass the TrueHD or DTS-HD.
All this may come into play and depending on your PS3 model or should I say depending on the year your PS3 was made some might be struck buy Shift2 bugs
I have an 80GB FAT PS3 connected via cheap HDMI 1.4 cable to my TV and cheap optical cable to my A/V amp and I can play for HOURS every day without a freezing (as the most critical example).
I have the latest 3.60 firmware ATM and I don't think of anything else that can relate to this.
What do you guys think?
