Can someone give me a good comparison of these?
I own the first shift and was considering purchasing Shift 2.

And more importantly, does the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR come in Flying Lizard livery?
If not, there is NO way I am EVER going to buy this game. :)

No sorry the Flying Lizard is only available on GT5 :dopey:

Graphics, physics, FFB, more tracks, more cars, all cars are works convertable, better AI, autolog. In theory, we'll see how it all pans out tomororw.

Yeah, I think I'm going to be getting rFactor or GTR for the PC.
So if I get Shift 2, it'll be for the PS3 as I don't have an xBox. (Damn I want Forza sooooo bad :))

OK, let's lay off the Lizards and compare the games.
Does anyone have a good side by side comparison?

Can someone tell me if they've simplified the tuning menu? Thats the only reason i wont pick up Shift anymore. I really want to get back into my NFS games and i've always enjoyed the sound quality of Shift and previous games which is worlds better than GT I'd say. Any help on this is appreciated.

The tuning menu seems to be a lot more complex...

As in Shift 1, there's an advanced tuning mode and a simplified tuning mode. In the simplified mode, there's just sliders for understeer/oversteer, acceleration/top speed, etc. You don't need to know anything about cars other than what you want the car to do.

@imari

Right. Somehow i understood he wanted to know about upgrades... I need to rest. The wait is killing me :D

Anyway, my bad. Please excuse me

Found this video, yeah tuning seems just as complicated as the last game...i doubt ill get this game now. I might rent it to see how i like the physics and the visceral experience of it before writing it off completely though.

See the button at the bottom of the tuning screen that says "Go to Quick"? That's the part for you. Not many people have bothered filming it, because most people are more worried that the tuning isn't going to be indepth enough.

it was in shift 1 and it really makes a difference. I'm not much of a tuner but just messing with the "quick" settings you can really notice the handling

I don't expect shift2 to be worse (quite the opposite)

Im not worried about it being worse im worried about the tuning being too somplicated and tweaking one setting screwing up my entire tune. Thats why i had to put down Shift for so longnwas the tuning menu. Thanks though i might try out the short menu on Shift 1 to get my interest back up.

This is an Universal Guide for the Setup in GTR2, multilenguage, I'm sure this will help even with another game. They don't have the same physics but they are all trying to simulate real life, so the LOGIC in tweaking things is almost the same.

Thanks for posting this. It really helped put some perspective into tuning for GT and Shift.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but what do you get in shift 2 if you've played shift 1? Cause on the manual, it says that theres a "suprise" for those who played shift 1..

Ahhh, I was also wondering this as I was going to trade in my copy of Shift 1 to save some $ on my purchase of Shift 2.
